Manufacturer's Description
Death is his way of life... now it becomes yours
To us society is normal; we walk the streets fearing no-one and nothing.
Yet through the ice blue eyes of Codename 47 he sees a world of potential threat and danger. He watches interested, but uninvolved.
Your time has come to enter the Hitman's world. A world where the Hitman trusts no-one but himself, a player in a deadly game, a combatant on a battlefield most people don't even know exists.
This slick 3rd person action/adventure combines a mix of stealth and shooting that has never been seen before on a PC. As the Hitman you must move without sound, kill without emotion and disappear without trace. Carry out your 'hits' effectively and a story of greed, power and jealousy will start to unfold.

Move without a sound, Kill without emotion!
Hitman is a wierd game to pick up at first. It's not your average blast athon but a thinking shooter which forces you to think about the options available before going forward. Told you it was weird.
You play as 47, a wierd and mysterious Hitman who is called upon to kill some people who unbeknowst to him, are linked to his forgotten past and origins.
The story isn't well told and there are certain gaps which leave unanswered questions. The graphics aren't special. Mediocre at best but the cream on the cake for this game has to be the gameplay. Stealth is the key.
You can dress up as people and try to infiltrate the base from the inside out or you could sniper the 'target' from a nearby window. Or why don't you try using a car-bomb or poison their champaign. The choices are endless.
A.I is pretty poor. You can run around and no-one will suspect a thing. Or you could shoot someone and no-one will know he is missing. This takes a little of the challenge away and could have easily been rectified.
Finally, there isn't much in terms of replay value. Sure it's difficult but where are the secrets? There are none, that's where.
The final verdict is this:
Hitman is a decent attempt and amost scores a perfect 5/5 stars. However, poor A.I and no other challenges spoils it all.
Other than that it is a pretty good game!
Hitman
People seem to not really think much of hitman 1 - at least judging by the reviews of hitman 2, which I am yet to play.
I do have to say that I thought the game was pretty good - yes you can't save - and sometimes it is frustrating. But nothing in the game is so hard that there is any real risk of getting it wrong and having to restart the mission - if you perform the task correctly. And at the end of each level you have always done a perfect mission!
Graphics and sound are OK - AI is a bit hit and miss but I didn't think the story was weak or levels unstructured. If you replay missions there is often more than one way of doing it which is something missing in games like Soldier of Fortune or Dungeon Siege which are totally linear.
Anyway - for a fiver you can't go wrong.
I am looking foward to giving hitman 2 a try.
Hitman Codename 47 - Brilliant
I bought this game a couple of months ago with my boyfriend. We are hooked! It is a fantastic game, and at such a brilliant price. There are seperate gaming levels, adn of course, you have to assassinate somebody in each level. But, there are other tasks to complete along the way, such as setting up car bombs and opening safes etc. Trust me on this one, you will not be disappointed.
