Amazon.co.uk Review
Robbie Williams Live at Knebworth is a lasting souvenir of the biggest ever live music event that the UK had ever seen, when in Summer 2003 some 375,000 people made their way to Knebworth to let Mr Williams entertain them. Recorded over the three nights, it doesn't contain the full two-hour set list and even dares to leave out some of the live favourites such as "Rock DJ" and "No Regrets", so doesn't quite count as a comprehensive "Best of". However, it does include the majority of his finest moments--from the full-on regular opening number "Let Me Entertain You", to the tingling hairs on the back of your neck-quality of "Angels" via such crowd pleasers as "Kids" and "Feel".
As with all live albums, it's never going to sound as clean as the studio versions, and there are bum notes and unexpected ad-libs, but to their credit the compilers have kept the inter song banter to a minimum so the listener is spared most of the cheesy humility served up in abundance on the nights. For those that attended, this will be an essential purchase as a lasting souvenir of a memorable day. For anyone else, they'd probably be better off waiting for the proper best of that will no doubt come out eventually. --Melanie Wilkin

CD vs DVD
Ok, obviously this is not the visual aspect of the concert/tour, but it does capture the best of the best from the performances over the 3 nights. I can deffinately feel the energy and emotion delivered by Robbie, his band and his audience, and listening to it through the headphones at vol 25 is just like being next to loud speakers at a live performance. He is very honest when he says that they are "about to witness the best show in the world right now", but I would rather have heard the DVD's "and for the next 2 hours, your arse is mine!" I think it's fantastic what he did with the song She's the One, and the spooky intro to Nan's Song is great. The screaming bit in Let Me Entertain You and the audience participation through We Will Rock You and Angels is clearly heard, with neither artist nor audience drowning out the other. With the few noticeable ommissions of Rock DJ, Strong, and Back for Good, and the play up with Barbie girl being his "favourite song of all time" just before Bojangles, it is not complete in its own way. And once again, the bridges from Nan's Song and Better Man are missing, making the songs incomplete. And I would've liked to have heard the full version of the "Guitar bit", and the full version of the interaction with the couple before She's the One, but you can't have everything. Just like every CD and DVD of his that I have I am surprised that it still works because I have listened to it so many times before. Just one last thing: I am so glad that the CD added the audience interaction in Bojangles. It just shows how much he cares for his people and always makes sure everyone gets a piece of the action. Another 10/10 product from the world's greatest performer.
Another blistering Display from RW
Although this does CD does not display the clarity or definition of a studio recorded album, robbie is undoubtedly at his best when live. Without breaks the album runs through all of Robbies famous works. Here he is at his best, and really connects with the 100,000+ audience allowing the album to go into a fourth dimension, putting you there, singing along with Robbie, screaming with the audience. Hold on. Your in for one hell of a ride!!!
A Night to remember
I travelled from Southampton to watch Robbie Live at Knebworth. This was the first time I had seen Robbie, and all I can say is WOW, that man was a born entertainer, I never stopped dancing from start to finish.
I bought the DVD and CD as a pure souvenir for the memories, the CD is constantly in my walkman and watching the DVD made the memories come back as if it was only yesterday. Seeing the crowd like that was pretty scary, but knowing that I was one out of the many thousands that attended, well that is one night in my life that I will never forget..
The critics should watch this and learn who the real Robbie is!!!
