Stratusfaction Guaranteed!
Trish Stratus- 100 % Stratusfaction Guaranteed is the first profile Video/DVD of WWE Diva Trish Stratus, and the first ever WWE profile where the subject actually had a hand in producing the finished product!
Trish has been in the WWE for 3 years (although she signed a contract in November 1999), but has really become a force to be reckoned with within the company in the last year and a half. Despite starting out as a valet and part-time "gimmick" performer (i.e. Bra And Panties Matches), Trish has evolved into a competent full-time wrestler in the Women's division and has won the Women's Title on 4 occassions.
This profile feature takes us back to the very beginning, where we learn about Trish's childhood from her friends and family. From there, we see how she became a fitness model for MuscleMag Magazine and how this opended doors for her in the wrestling business.
We here from the man who originally trained her for wrestling, Ron Hutchinson, who explains what his first impressions were when he met Trish and heard that she wanted to train to become a wrestler, but then goes on to say how her looks were deceiving and that she was infact a very tough girl. We see her WWE debut on Sunday Night Heat in March 2000 (scouting Test and Albert) and her first in-ring promo (which even by Trish's own admission was awful), where she announced the formation of "T and A" (Test and Albert, of course).
Unfortunately, due to the court case with The World Wildlfe Fund, much of the footage from this period features lots of blurred images (as WWE can no longer show the "WWF Attitude" logo or use the term "WWF" anymore). It's also unfortunate that after a little piece on Trish's affiliation with T And A, we move on to the humiliating "relationship" story line between Trish and Vince McMahon (fortunately, we are spared most of the "bark like a dog" angle from March 2001). There's more emphasis put on this than Trish's time with T And A, which is a shame, as Trish had an entertaining feud with Lita during her "T And A Days".
We see Trish's "Diva side", as she poses for various swimsuit shoots in paradise (which is obviously easy on the eye), before seeing her first Women's Title reign at Survivor Series 2001. From there, we see her evolve into the great performer she is today, and hear comments from opponents such as Molly Holly and Victoria. Finally, we see Trish interacting with her many fans and discussing her future in the business.
Overall, the main feature is rather interesting and portrays the "real" Trish (i.e the woman behind the character) very nicely. But some of the earlier parts of her career seem to be rushed through (e.g., her debut year) and some things aren't included at all (becoming the first woman to do "The Worm", her UK debut at Rebellion 2000). But it's still a very well-produced piece that should please all her fans out there.
The extras are also impressive, although they could have been a bit better. We get her sexy table vignettes from April 2000, 3 quality matches (Chicago Street Fight, Wrestlemania Triple Threat Match, Insurrextion match against Jazz), various photoshoots and some hilarious banter between Trish and Jericho at the Much Music Awards. But we also get a lame Mud Match from Raw against Stacy Keibler and some rather pointless Mad TV footage. It also would have been nice to see some more footage from when Trish hosted Slammin' Saturday Night on TNN and also some footage from when she hosted the Fan Axcess at Wrestlemania 19.
Although it may not deliver "100 % Stratusfaction", Trish's first profile delivers a healthy amount of "Stratusfaction" and is a worthy purchase for Trish fans everywhere. Trish has said herself that she'd like to co-produce another one, so here's hoping for Volume 2.....
top trish
a good biography of a legendry diva. the feature leaves alot to be desired, but the extras are among the best the wwe has offered. trish at her most sexy and hardcore. victoria and trishs chicago street fight is not to be missed!
