A gr8t xmas album
Not the best from Miss Houston but never the less its still a gr8t album. If ur a Whitney fan then it is essential. This is her most recent release. Best tracks include One Wish, Cantigue De Noel, Deck the Halls, Silent night and Who would imagine a king, which is from the 1996 Preacher's Wife soundtrack album. Overall, this is a good album for the holidays (xmas) and her smooth voice does the songs justice. 4/5.
What a load of rubbish!
I have been a whitney houston fan, since the day she released her first single,me and whitney go way back.I have bought every album she has made, video's DVD's,and have been to see her 3 times in concert. However,i am afraid to have to tell you, that this is the worst christmas album i have ever listened to,and i can't believe it was her that had to be the one to make it.It is absolutely awful, except for one song, and that is the title song,'One Wish'.I was very dissapointed, because whitney has such a beautiful voice, yet she does drag her songs out, warbling,i call it.Instead of just getting on with the song.It is very dissapointing,to say the least. If she had sung the rest of the album, like 'one wish',it would have been perfect. If you want to buy the perfect christmas album, and you happen to be a fan of Celine Dion, then go out and buy 'These are special times' it is fantastic! and there is not one bad song on it,you will love it,trust me.As for whitney ,i will certainly not be rushing out to buy her next album,if it is anything like 'one wish'.My advice to anyone who is thinking of buying it,is,go to the shop, and listen to a few tracks first,or forget it.I think whitney has lost the plot!
A Voice like no other! Whitney brings christmas home!
This album is simply perfection!
Whitney has the ability to evoke so many emotions just with a few nights of her glorious emmaculate voice!
1."The First Noel"-A beautiful song with an smooth R&B feel.
Perfect song to listen to by a fire looking out the window and seeing all that is right with the world and all that could be once more. 10/10
2."The Christmas Song"-This will always be Nat King cole's song but, Whitney does it great justice. 9/10
3."The Little Drummer Boy"-Her daughter starts out the song with the voice of a child whom has a future once it matures. I've always loved this song and I love the upbeat R&B tempo it's given. Great! 9/10
4."One Wish(for christmas)"-A great song that is just so great for Whitney. You can just feel the honesty in her voice. You just feel her so much on this song. 9/10
5."O Holy Night"-On of my favorite songs sung by my favorite songstress! You just feel the power and majest of her voice.
Simply perfection! 10/10
6."I'll Be Home for Christmas"-She certainly brought it home! 9/10
7."Deck the Halls/Silent Night"-Love the arrangements of this song! Never heard a twist like this on these songs. I love it! 8/10
8."Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas"-Her voice in this song makes me tear up and just fills me with so much joy! 10/10
9."O'Come O'Come Emanuel"-ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! My favorite track on this CD! Her gospel roots are not more evident than in the song! 10/10!!!!!!!!
10.&11. "Who would imagine a King" & "Joy to the World"-Both songs from her Preacher's Wife Album. Lovely songs and a perfect way to end an AWESOME ALBUM!!! 10/10!!!
