WWE Summerslam 2003
Summerslam 2003 saw the 2nd chapter in the Elimination Chamber story as six superstars put their bodies on the line for the World Heavyweight Championahip.
Match 1 - La Resistance vs Dudley Boyz - This was a decent match with good pace but in the end undeserving winners
6.5/10
Match 2 - A-Train (With Sable) vs Undertaker - Two Smackdown superatars go at it in a personal encounter after A-Train had targeted Undertaker's ribs which were broken at Vengeance by John Cena, an average match but no fireworks
5.5/10
Match 3 - Shane McMahon vs Eric Bischoff (No DQ's) - This was a personal match after what Eric Bischoff did to Shane's mother, Shane was dominating the match until Jonathan Coachman (Coach) hit him with a chair which began his heel turn. When Shane was on the floor Erich Bischoff let Coach commentate after kicking Shane several times as he cut off JR and King's microphones, Stone Cold was then called out and was 'physically provoked' by the Coach and Bischoff which allowed him to dish out some much needed punishment, in the end a deserving winner after a jump from the turnbuckle through the Spanish Announce table.
7.5/10
Match 4 - Eddie Guerrero vs Chris Benoit vs Rhyno vs Tajiri for the US Championship
This was a very personal match with old friends locking horns, overall a good match with both powerful and high flying moves which was the perfect formula for a good match.
8/10
Match 5 - Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title.
I was anticipating a good match between former friends but in the end I was very disappointed and I couldn't really get into it and enjoy it as there seemed to be too many attempted pinfalls
5.5/10
Match 6 - Rob Van Dam vs Kane (No Holds Barred)
This was a very personal match between the two, it all started when Kane removed his mask as RVD thought it would make him more human but it made Kane absolutely psychotic which included setting fire to JR and Tombestoning Linda McMahon on the steps, this was a good match mainly thanks to RVD who adapted to the No Holds Barred environment with some impressive high flying moves but I didn't like the way it ended when RVD was tombestoned on the steps by Kane
7/10
Match 7 - Elimination Chamber 2 - Triple H vs Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho vs Goldberg vs Shawn Michaels vs Kevin Nash for the World Heavyweight Championship
This is now becoming a regular match in the WWE with over 2 miles of chains and weighing over 10 tons. Ric Flair told Randy Orton to be the guinea pig and make sure Triple H retains his title. The match was very intense with some outrageous moves including Chris Jericho being speared through the glass by Goldberg, three of the men had been in the match before so they were used to it. Goldberg was a demolition device and beat up anyone who was breathing, I didn't like the winner as he sat on his ass the whole match until Goldberg forced him out, not as good as the first Elimination Chamber but still a very entertaining match and the best match on the card
9/10
WWE Summerslam 2003
World Tag Team Championship
La Resistance def. The Dudley Boyz - a very quick and boring match, not vey good nor entertaining, bad ending too. 4/10
Undertaker def. A-Train
Long but boring match, had a few exciting bits, overall quite bad, good ending when Stephanie gets her own back on Sable! 5/10
Shane McMahon def. Eric Bishoff - it was a rather boring start, especially when coach was assaulting Shane, but after Austin beat the living hell out of everyone, it think it was a great match and ending, i hate the wat Shane is all brave now when he used to be a woos! 7/10
Fatal Four Way Match
United States Championship
Eddie Guerrero def. Benoit, Tajiri and Rhyno - i thought this was an entertaining match but not the best of all of 'em, rather boring! 6/10
WWE Championship
Kurt Angle def. Brock Lesnar - great match, supurb ending, and i loved the entertainment, a good ending for sure and i hate the hawaian looking shirt Vince McMahon wears! 8/10
Kane def. Rob Van Dam - a quick and entertaining match, rather sloppy and RVD was hardly getting Kane! 8/10
Elimination Chamber
World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H def. Goldberg, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton - a rather boring match, although it is the Elimination Chamber i mean come on, it's gotta be gud, but it was rather bad and it wasn't as good nor exciting as the first one, bad ending but i still enjoyed it, it was very entertaining. 8/10
Summerslam 2003
1. The Dudley Boyz vs. La Resistance. World Tag Team Title Match.
This was avery enjoyable match with lots of twists and turns. Nothing was extremely special or unique but a match worth watching. Also a surprising ending. (7/10)
2. Undertaker vs. A-Train (w) Sable.
This was also enjoyable. Neither superstar hesitated and it was none stop action. A very deserving winner. (7/10)
3. Shane McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff. No Holds Barred.
An extremely personal match with interferences from The Coach and Steve Austin. Although it succeeds on the entertainment factorm it fails on the wrestling factor. Also to short. (6/10)
4. Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit vs. Rhyno vs. Tajiri. U.S Title Match.
This match was an absolute privellege to watch. There was countless near falls unique moves and a rollocoaster of excitement. In my opinion best match of the night. (10/10)
5.Rob Van Dam vs. Kane. No Holds Barred.
This match was sheer disapointment it was to slow and boring moves. An absolute let down. Worst match on the card! (2/10)
6. Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar. WWE Title Match.
Quite a good match, a bit boring at times, to much mat wrestling for my liking. Gets exciting towards the end but these two great athletes should have preformed better. (6/10)
7. Triple H vs. Goldberg vs. Kevin Nash vs. Shawn Micheals vs. Chris Jericho Vs. Randy Orton. Elimination Chamber Match for World Heavyweight Title.
2nd best match on the card. Reason being that it simply wasn't exciting or as fast paced as the Fatal 4 Way, not the best Elimination Chamber match. But still it was great and i did enjoy it very much. Wrong man won. (9/10)
Overall I'd give Summerslam 2003 a (9/10) because only one match let it down.
