Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
Blue are still trying to emulate their US counterparts, and their third album Guilty includes a host of set pieces including shouty bits, Timbaland-esque production and even some falsetto singing. Songs such as "Stand Up" and "Bubblin'" are classic Blue in the spirit of "All Rise" and "Drive By"--funky backing with catchy half-sung, half-spoken lyrics that make for a pretty good start to the album.
The standout soul ballad is "How a Man's Supposed to Change"--catchy and light with a rousing chorus that unlike most other ballads on the album actually sounds like Blue as opposed to any generic boyband. Three albums down the line Blue are still delivering the goods, although a number of the songs sound remarkably like Westlife--not necessarily a bad thing but Blue have their own style and should most definitely stick to it. --Georgina Collins
Customer Reviews
Boyband Lovers
This cd is ideal for easy listening and Blue Band Fans. The tracks range from a vibey pop to a melo quited ballads. The voices of the band are spectacular. Best tracks on the CD is track 9 I want to known, track 11 breathe easy [for some deep listening] and track 15 No goodbyes.
A must buy if you want a complete collection
Have Done Better
This is not the Best album Blue have done. Most of the ballads, like 'Walk Away' and 'When Summer's Gone' Are great, but Blue really let themsleves down on the more Upbeat Tracks, Like 'Bubblin'' and 'Taste It'.
Only 6 of the 15 Tracks on this album are really worth listening to.
One again a complete different album
The thing with Blue is that every album they make sounds completely different from the one before. The first one was this really urban unique album which got my 5 stars. Then the second album "One Love" had RnB written all over it. The boys really improved vocally and most of the tracks where penned by the boys themselves.
Now with "Guilty", once again a complete different style. This one is more pop with a little rock. And in some ways this is good, but in some ways also bad. It's cool that they try new stuff and try to surpass the previous albums but why change a winning formula? I loved "All Rise" and "One Love" was in my CD player for months. I am sure a lot of people will love this album but it is just not my taste.
So all I can say is if you loved the other albums, listen to this one first before you buy it.
