Customer Reviews
The song and not the singer
Barrett Strong was really a T M staff writer who sometimes made singles and one of them MONEY (Thats what I want)could be considered to be the first Motown single before Tamla Motown as it came out on a label called Anna.
Previous to this for anyone going back far enough the singles on United Artists by Marv Johnson were probably leased by Berry Gordy.
Whatever Money became a staple of the Beatles live act and was popular with Liverpool beat groups at the time.As a track on the 2nd Beatles album it reached more people than it ever did via Barrett Strong.
Both this and its B side are included on the JOHN LENNON'S JUKEBOX CD
