Manufacturer's Description
In Monster Hunter, creatures from all walks of life coexist with mankind. The struggle to hunt or be hunted is the only way of survival. As the story unfolds, individual characters develop through surviving battles and the strength of the weapons and protective gear they possess. Weapon shops located in the neighbouring towns and villages allow hunters to purchase, create or strengthen powerful weapons and armour using items collected during combat and the skin or horns acquired from the monsters that have been defeated. The variety of armament combinations used or obtained is almost limitless. However, its effectiveness will vary depending on the materials used to produce it.

With online multiplayer scenarios, gamers can participate in group sessions of up to four players working as a team to vanquish powerful monsters and accomplish tasks. For instance, work collectively to create traps for unsuspecting monsters or distract a monster's attention as a friend tries to escape from a dragon's nest, carrying an enormous egg. Moreover, new quests and items will be available for use on the network. Monster hunters will be overwhelmed by the possibilities that online play lends itself as Monster Hunter reveals the expansive world that awaits them.

The hunt is bigger then ever5
A well defined world, well designed environment plus realistic but yet fantasy creatures... welcome to the world of Monster Hunters!! It is a great game not just because of its superb game play, but also for maybe the first time, a player need not to be tied to a faction or carry a heavy burden on their shoulder to save the world (or some one), the aim is simple, take a mission (contract) and be famous! The game does not rely on gore nor violence, some of the missions are actually...cute. You do not kill to complete the missions, as a matter of fact, some missions require you to capture monsters, this gives the game a whole new level of depth. I played this game, loved it, recommended my boss's wife who has problems with their kids over playing games and addicted to bloody games, she loved it as her kids now no longer want to play violence filled, blood spilling games anymore. What to say? This game is definately addicting but due to time constrains of each mission, enforces a certain level of self constrain. Highly recommended, if I can, I'd rate it 6 stars!!!

A surprise hit for Capcom.4
I recently bought this game after receiving a demo from devil may cry 3.
All I have to say is that it is quite similar to fantasy star online in the sense you create a character and then do missions online or offline with or without a team of 4 people its up to you.
Basically you play through variouse missions which are based on retrieving missions (Finding certain items on the area maps and then retreiving them back to camp sounds boring but these are fun)
Hunting missions (Finding a certain monster or group of monsters and taking them out)
Defending missions (This is an obviouse one)
Capturing missions (Capturing monsters and dragons and so on)

When you kill monsters you carve up there bodies and then use the items to make better armour for your character and weapons also combining items makes better ones.
This is a great game and I can't wait for a sequal but in the next one they need to sort that shaky camera out and improve on the combat and add a lock on so killing the monsters becomes a bit easier.
Due to sligtly dodgy controls I took one star away but the game is great fun online or off ( online being better because you can team up and there are slightly more missions to do) plus it gets strangely addictive when you keep doing the same missions as you always find a new item or creature to kill.
Buy this game now so more people play it online.

Monster Hunter - a world to explore4
I have got a early demo of the game and I found that is a unique world explorer that lets you make your own charter. The way you play the game is never the same again because every person changes each time you play the game. Also your character is not tied down by size or shape because you select their abilities then you make your shape and size.It is very funny to see a tiny elf with a huge club.I recommend it to people that want to create their own story and make their own collection of characters. You will enjoy the game if you like your games with lots of opportunity to explore the environment.
