Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Bros' Best Of showcases arguably the first ever Pop Idols. Pop stars are nothing new but Bros were admittedly manufactured and with their first hit single "When Will I Be Famous?" displayed the naked craving for celebrity that now characterises modern pop culture. But that driving first hit, with its vague house flavour, still stands up, as do other tracks such as the powerful "I Owe You Nothing". What's surprising is that the twins achieved eight Top 10 hits (all contained here)--this in an era when it was truly difficult to reach the high end of the charts. Whether they wrote these songs or indeed sang them has often been a subject of debate. One thing was for sure. As quickly as Bros rose they fell, and, as individuals, swamped in debts and tales of woe. Bros were part of a package of acts made by the wildly successful company PWL, that included Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and many now defunct names (e.g. Sonya). Nearly all relied on a formula of high-pitched vocals, bits of watered down electro and wholesale steals from 60s hits. Bros were the label's signature act with their Aryan looks and glossy style sense and as an example of mainstream pop in the 80s there can be few better examples. --Jake Barnes

BROS RULES5
Matt, Luke, and Craig stormed onto the British charts in 1988, and ruled the british music scene for the next two years. This collection includes all of their brilliant tracks including When Will I be Famous and I Owe you Nothing.

With all the boybands out there copying the Take That and Westlife sound, one can trully appreciate how unique BROS was. Their sound was a cross between Michael Jackson (thriller era), Genesis, and new wave Synth. No one has sounded like them since. Props to a label for releasing this collection. Now BUY IT.
