Customer Reviews

Vastly underrated4
Dylan had a bad eighties, with two notable exceptions: Infidels (1983) and Oh Mercy (1989).

Infidels is tragically underrated. The songs are top rank without exception, and there are a couple of real gems - Jokerman and Man of Peace. Some tracks don't make an immediate impression, but grow on you. I've owned the album in one form or another for 15 years, and it just seems to get better with every listening.

Musicianship is beyond reproach. Production is credited to Mark Knopfler and His Bobness, with Knopfler on lead guitar and a Sly-&-Robbie rhythm section.

This is one of Bob Dylan's strongest post-sixties albums, with some memorable tracks and nothing on it that's less than good.

one of the best of bob dylan5
Having been a fan of Dylan since the sixties, I have probably got most of his work in one form or another, but I rate Infidels as one of the very best. Knoflers guitar is briliant especially on I and I which is my favorite track. I love the whole album and it should have done better than it did.

One of my favorite Bod Dylan albums.5
This CD is, as stated below, hugely underrated! Every of the only 8 songs are superb, and it's a pleasure that they haven't filled the album with inferior tracks to make it longer.

Jokerman, Neighborhood Bully and Man Of Peace are some of Dylans most catchy up-tempo songs. Think songs of the Desire record combined with Dire Straits rock/pop flare. It's great. License To Kill, I And I and especially Don't Fall Apart On Me Tonight are among the most fantastic ballads he's ever done. Simply lovely.

Not one song among these rate under excellent, and this is a classic album imo.
