Synopsis
This multi-pack contains the first seven films from the popular POLICE ACADEMY series.
POLICE ACADEMY: A big city mayor-elect, eager to make good on a campaign promise to increase-the-peace, waives entry requirements for the police force. The result: mishap, mayhem and mismanagement, as the force is flooded with bumbling buffoons, idealistic idiots, and quixotic quipsters. The crooks never had it so good.
POLICE ACADEMY 2: The crazy "Police Academy" graduates are on the street now, and the not unexpected result is sheer chaos. One of their first assignments is to put a stop to a gang of vicious spray-painters.
POLICE ACADEMY 3: In this second POLICE ACADEMY sequel, the bungling officers' academy is threatened by a state budget crunch, and if more horrible policemen are to graduate from it in the future, then they must find some way to save it.
POLICE ACADEMY 4: Where the cockeyed cops left off in the first three films, the motley misfits have taken over as the C.O.P. - Citizens on Patrol.
POLICE ACADEMY 5: Commandant Lassard is to receive one last honoUr before retirement, having been named Policeman of the Decade for the police chiefs convention in Miami Beach, and his loyal misfits decide to take their vacation and join him.

great filmes, poor dvd's.......
great films, nice to watch as i hadn't seen them since i was a child.
however, why are they all in Mono, why is 4-5 in 4:3 and not widescreen like the rest.
IMO a poor version, get it together and release better quality ones

oh, dear...
It almost seems a shame that the raw materials that went into producing this package were not used for something with more value to the human race...like a landmine or a oil slick. There are so few gags in the whole seven disc (that's right, seven) set that they could almost be better described as dramas rather than comedies. Except that there's precious little that's dramatic here either. Please avoid this torrid void of entertainment.

Harmless fun, shamelessly corny, good to have
This may not be Shakespeare and there are times when it makes the Carry On films seem high brow, but for this kind of price and the amount of fun they bring, who can argue? The first four or five work the best, and it's sad to see some faces leave the cast as the films go along, but the spirit of the films never changes and as such this is worth having. Friends cringe at this in my collection but when I put one on for an evening in the background usually, they end up enjoying it and commenting that they weren't actually bad. I doubt most people have seen the later ones, but do give them a go!!!
