Album Description
Afrodisiac is sensuous, soulful, even a little gritty, and an album that showcases Brandy's passionate voice and announces in no uncertain terms that she's all grown up and knows what she wants. The hot first single, "Talk About Our Love" was produced by and features Kanye West.

Feel The Love, Powerful Lyrics, & Brandy!4
Brandy has a beautiful soft listener-friendly style that combined with the music is like a breath of fresh air. All her albums have something special to offer. This one is quite a sensation for R&B junkies, hip-hop lovers, and even pop fans. She brings tracks filled with love, self-respect, patience, down-to-earth qualities, and much hopes and dreams. The melody is soothing, positive, and full of sensational styles to feel new, invigorated, and alive again!

The opening track, "Who I Am", is a strong introduction of how a woman is strong despite a not so good situation. Some lyrics are: "Thank you for all the tears, stress, you're the best...I'm a better woman now... this experience made me who I am..." The second track, "Afrodisiac" takes a different turn stressing how that special someone fulfills desires, takes the moods higher, and makes the effect to be like a prisoner to love. And if you want to move into a different direction, "I Tried" has Brandy's vocals sounding quite different like Keyshia Cole to some degree on some portions. The melody is soft smooth R&B with deep lyrics, nice chorus, and catchy hooks. She questions herself, "Did I drive you away?" It's apparent that letting go is not easy like the track title "I Tried". Another favorite, "Come As You Are" stresses the importance of being yourself and not getting so worked up about being someone different.

Featured artists include Kanye West, and T.I. While she could have included more rap stars she chose to have an album with hints of their presence without loosing focus on her. And that's exactly the feel and experience you will get when you play this album. It's Brandy whispering at times, singing softly at others, as well as elevating in others along beautiful R&B instrumentation's excellently produced. It's apparent she can sing about any topic without shouting, elevating too harshly her voice or without annoying the average music listener.

My top 2 favorite tracks are "Talk About Our Love" feat. Kanye West and "Where You Wanna Be" featuring T.I. Both have a nice hip-hop bouncy type effect. The way the featured artist does the rhymes is sticky, infectious, and definitely off the hook. The themes get intensified and the varying vocals are an excellent compliment to avoid an entire album of one particular style. All in all, the entire album is extremely enjoyable without fillers of any kind. I would have enjoyed more featured artists.

This is a fabulous buy worth the price for fans of R&B, soothing sounds with cotton candy vocals, beautiful musical accompaniment, a few featured artists, and much depth of emotion! If you are looking for music to release your anger, ease your worries or hurts then this is phenomenal and for you!

Brandy at her Best5
What can i say, this album is amazing, i have listened to it pretty much non stop for a month and im still not tired of it, infact i love it even more than when i first heard it. Not being the biggest fan of brandys previous work, i like what about us? but her full moon album was disappointing. I approached this album with scepticism. However it is excellent and i can not recommend it highly enough. There are a few songs which i do not think as good as the rest, focus for example, although it isnt a bad track it is weaker than the others on the album. Despite this this album is a 10 star album. Timberland has definatly brought the best out in brandy and as timberland shouts at the begining of one of the latter tracks, 'we have rised to the occasion', and they have!
