The game brings the over-the-top action and excitement of the Battlefield series into the modern era with a bleeding-edge arsenal of vehicles and weaponry allowing for the most extreme "Battlefield Moments" yet. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat features a propaganda-fuelled single player campaign where gamers play both sides of a conflict in one of the most treacherous regions in the world--Kazakhstan. Gamers will plunge headlong into the fog of war and must ultimately choose sides in a furious showdown where nothing is as it seems.
Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of over 30 vehicles and over 50 state of the art weapons to engage in major conflicts with up to 24 players in immense online battles. (Online play requires Xbox Live subscription and Internet connection (for Xbox) or Network adaptor, memory card and Internet connection for PlayStation 2). Voiceover communication is also supported via USB headset

My fave Xbox title of all time
I'm an old school gamer. I like my video games to be captivating and action packed. I can handle having to suspend disbelief, and I don't mind games that have a realistic setting but depart from uber-realism.
Battlefield 2 MC is a joy to play, cause it ticks all of those boxes. It's a military shooter, with real military equipment and vehicles, and real miltary classes (almost), but it's a full-on arcade blast, with characters who can handle a few hits before dying (no one-shot frustration ala Ghost recon) and respawns a plenty.
Actually, I haven't even got time to type this, i want to play more. All I can say is, ignore the complainers, this game is total fun, it's smooth on AND offline (never seen any lag or boots). Buy it now.
it aint halo2
Battlefield is not Halo2 but it comes close. You do get to drive all types of vehicles (several types of tanks, humvees, dune buggies, snow mobiles, cars) also helicopters etc etc. This is a great game but half a star away from halo2. You also get to choose the role that you would like to take on sniper, engineer, assault etc. You can also call in airstrikes, laser target vehicles etc. Would recommend for a different type of shoot em up expreience
Great fun online!!
Battlefield is primarily designed for multiplayer use. Without the multiplayer I would have given this game three stars out of five. The single player is okay, but nothing special. The hot swap mode allows you to switch between players within the single player mode, it's fun for a couple of hours but that's about it. Graphics and sound affects, however are excellent throughout the whole game.
The fun really begins, when playing on Xbox live. It's very different in style from playing Halo two online. For one thing, you select the style of player you wish to use, whereas in Halo two you have to find weapons as you go along. Battles normally consist of around 10 players per side. They also include many vehicles, such as jeeps, helicopters, tanks and cars. There are also many other things to use such as, anti-aircraft weapons, machine gun turrets and mortar strikes.
If you're looking for some online entertainment, there is no better than this. If you're looking for is a single player action, you may be best off with Halo, or call of duty.
