Amazing, what an album!!5
Reuben is a band I have heard about for a couple of years now, one of those bands you hear the occasional single from but never know whether an album is around the corner!
Thankfully these guys have released an album, and it is incredible, awesome and everything I look for in a quality rock album.
You simply can't compare this band to any other, I have tried to make comparisions but nothing seems to fit exactly. You can name bands like Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Green Day and any other bands of that ilk........but in my opinion that wouldn't be doing Reuben any justice - this album stands out on it's own.
The melodies and hooks this band use are incredible, every song has such a strong melody running through it you can't help but sing along and wish you could write something this catchy on your own guitar!!
The lyrics are also brilliant, Jamie manages to convey various moods and opinions without ever sounding corny or predictable. They fit the songs perfectly and never sound strained. I can't praise this album enough, can't even pick my favourite song out - it changes daily and the fact I can listen to this album start to finish without pressing the skip button says a lot. The last album I could do that on was Troublegum by Therapy and we all know how good that album was.
It is so refreshing to see a great young british band make music this good - together with Amplifier and Oceansize, Reuben are spearheading the new onslaught of great british rock music......I strongly recommend you check Reuben out, it will be in my stereo for a very long time!!

Best British rock album in 2004 by a mile!5
I have never written a review for amazon before but buying this album prompted me to do so. Quite simply this is an awesome record. The album will be enjoyed by anyone into Hundred Reasons and Biffy Clyro and generally fans of the rock genre. I bought Biffy Clyro's 'Vertigo of Bliss' and it has been my favourite record for months with its combination of melody and heavy guitars/drums. 'Racecar is Racecar Backwards' blows 'Vertigo of Bliss' out of the water. The riffs are heavy and melodic, and the basslines strong with rocking drumming. Since I saw them live late in 2003, the boys' playing skills seem to have progressed hugely (not that they weren't already excellent).

I have followed them since seeing 'Let's Stop Hanging Out' on MTV2. You will find this gem (slightly reworked from the single version) and 15 others on this record. Buy it. But to really appreciate them in their full glory, go and see them play live.

Exceptional talent5
Reuben have managed to create a small niche in the musical world, alongside the likes of Biffy Clyro and Hell is for heroes.

Rock, with metallic influences, alongside slow and quieter songs.

this album is worth the money, plenty of songs and PLENTY of varience. Every track is totally different. There is something for everyone here, and you will not be dissapointed.

I quite honestly have no idea why reuben are not far greater in the public eye. They are still relativly unknown and deserve far more recognition for their incredible talent.

The song writting and lyrics are completly original, using bizzare time changes and tunings for guitars.

If your even looking here you shouldnt hesitate to buy it. its one of those albums you buy without caring about reviews, no dissapointment here

For fans of Biffy Clyro/From Autumn to ashes
