Excellent Game....
This game really is brilliant!
I've found that I really like controlling the defence on this game - there are a range of useful options which can make it easier to stop you opponent from scoring. I also feel that the designers have ensured that there is a more even balance between the strength of the offence and defence. This makes the game far more realistic.
The franchise mode is much improved - I like the press coverage of your teams performance, and the way you can manage you franchise on a business level (setting ticket prices ect.)
Graphics and sound are to standard you would expect from the XBOX.
If you like American Football, this game is a must have.
Same Old, Same Old
I've been playing Madden since the first edition in 1992, when 'digital speech' was an amazing concept in a video game. Things have moved on slightly since then, but the gameplay remains constant to every series there has been (we'll i bought '99 and '01 on the PS1 and assume the others are accurate).
The new features are very good-the hit stick is immense if you want to flatten someone or try and get a fumble. The tutorials ane superb (i really hope EA do something similar on the Fifa 2005 game), as is the 'football manager' style section of ground management. The storyline section is ok. but the constant emails from players threatening to ruin your season if they dont get their game can be annoying. . My one slight gripe would be Maddens less humorous commentary than previous seasons, and also that its not on Xbox Live).
All in all, a solid purchase for anyone who is into American Football, or if your not you'll never tire of doing Hail Mary's or sacking Quarterbacks!.
uk version does not have xbox live
You have probably heard that ea sports and xbox live have resovled the differences and came together. If you are looking for xbox live with this game forget about it. If you got earlier versions of game, no need to buy this one. I had preordered game based on US reviews.
