Amazon.co.uk Review
Danger! 50,000 Volts! Is a British comedy television series where survival is not assured and Danger is always just around the next corner! Definitely not for the faintihearted! Nick Frost, star of Shaun of the Dead and the cult British comedy Spaced, fearlessly hosts this comedy survival series of seven thirty-minute episodes as he attempts to solve the following dangerous dilemmas: Alligator Attack!, Thugs With Baseball Bats!, High Speed Chases!, Minefields!, Fires!, Being Impaled!, Lightning Strikes!, Tidal Waves!, Hostage Situations! And MORE high-tension, high-risk situations that could strike out of nowhere!

Synopsis
A double-dose of danger from one of the stars of Spaced and Shaun of the Dead , no not Simon Pegg, the other one, Nick Frost.

Oh it could have been so much more...3
I love SPACED and most anything Simon Pegg is attached to. I converted many people out here in the States making them watch SPACED, Shawn of the Dead, Black Books, and other fine shows. When I saw Nick Frost had done this show I grabbed it only to be disappointed by the lack luster delivery. Don't get me wrong there are interesting and amusing bits through out (the animation is quite funny at times) but in general I felt Nick Frost was sleep walking through most of it. Great idea poorly executed. There will be a time for dips, but this isn't one of them.

Ray Mears eat your heart out.5
I'll admit straight off that I'm a fan of Nick Frost and everything he's ever been in. This may make me biased, but I had high expectations of this DVD and it didn't disappoint.

Danger 50000 volts takes a lighthearted and humourous approach to survival and is both fascinating and factual. Each episode deals with four different scenarios (how to find water in the desert, how to identify a snake bite, how to search for landmines, etc.) and through demonstrations, interviews with slightly bemused guest experts and cartoons it teaches us how to survive them. We even get cartoon versions of anything too dangerous to film, which get progressively sillier as the series goes on.

The extras are excellent: A 30-minute Zombie survival episode, a hilarious commentary track and danger facts (which is also accessible via the programmes) make the DVD worth the price. I've also been told there's an Easter egg in there, but I haven't found it myself.

It's a class programme, infinitely watchable and without a doubt the best thing channel five has ever produced.

Danger is everywhere5
Be prepared with this hilarious must have DVD

Finally one of my favourite TV shows has arrived on DVD.

'Danger 50,000 volts' was a programme I discovered while I was at university and have loved since. The show, for those of you who somehow missed this little comedy gem, is basically a survival guide to some of the perils and pitfalls that could strike our everyday lives....

Worried what to do if there is a nuclear strike, what happens if your sighted by a grisly (not cuddly) bear, or worst of all if your stuck in sand during the Paris - Dakar rally, then this show will explain the ins and outs of surviving this wonderful journey they call life.

The show is hosted by Nick 'no stranger to danger' Frost (star of spaced and Shaun of the dead). He is joined on this voyage of discovery by a host of experts who (although some may have been affected mentally by the wealth of the knowledge they hold) give us precious information that one day we may be thankful for knowing... and as a result Nick treats them with the dignity and respect they deserve.
The show manages to combine life saving information with laugh out loud entertainment - infotainment at its best.

During my student years I would sit back happy in the knowledge that while I was laughing my beer developed man boobs off, I was learning something useful. Now starting my office days it's great to have the show on DVD, dreaming that one day I may get to be involved in a hurricane, because it sounds like a laugh.

Added to the already big value pack of comedy is a 25 minute special featuring Dr. Russell Fell (some may recognise this nut ball) as the Australian zombie hunter, who shows us how to exterminate, with extreme prejudice, the walking dead. This, for the fan boys, is worth spending price alone.

Also included is a random fact button, which when it appears on screen, pressing the icon will give 'danger facts' that will make you the envy of all your friends next time you are lost for things to talk about in the pub.

The commentary is also amusing, featuring the man himself Nick Frost, as well as other members of the crew, including series producer John Riley who takes great delight in telling us, must have information such as how much Frost's combat jacket actually cost. (Apparently under £30! bargain)

Buy this DVD it will save your life....
