    Slow and unstable2
    In the past, Symantec products inspired confidence and were reliable. However, Norton Anti-Virus 2005 fails to meet those high standards. Since upgrading Norton Anti-Virus 2004 to 2005, I have had to re-install the software three times in five months. The 'LiveUpdate' service seems to cause problems with some programme files and after a while the software becomes unusable. On searching for help on the internet, it appears to be quite a common problem. In addition to the system instability, it is slow and uses considerably more RAM than previous versions. I would, therefore, strongly advice anyone to think very carefully before investing in this product.

    Beware!1
    First attempt at LiveUpdate failed. Apparently not compatible with previous versions of Norton Products - I had 2003 Norton AntiVirus and 2004 Norton Firewall already installed. Online Technical support proposed major clean up and uninstall/re-install procedure for all Norton products on my PC after their first set of suggested procedures did not work.

    Given I have already spent about 3 hours trying to get it to work, I have almost given up and am considering binning the product and all other Norton products and starting again.

    Buy at your own peril.

    Caused catastrophic crash1
    Followed installation instructions and was using to upgrade from Norton 2003. Installed ok then first live update was the last time I could you use my computer. Drive directory and Boot files corrupted (unrecoverable). Sending laptop off for data recovery from hard drive. Could be a coincidence but laptop working fine before first live update. I notice a similar review for someone else installing this product on top of Norton 2003. If using advise full back up before installing.
