Manufacturer's Description
.hack: Quarantine is Part 4 of the .hack saga. Take a journey into a virtual world where anything is possible, and nothing is as it appears. Fight your way through contaminated levels of cyberspace as you take on and eliminate enemies, and unlock codes that will allow you to gate travel to even more environments-- all in a desperate attempt to discover who or what's behind "The World".

Okay enough is enough
I quite liked the first Hack game so I bought the second, then the third and finally now I got this one. You've probably got the gist of the game play by now so I won't bother with that.
BUT this has been a long series and often you find yourself unable to progress the story unless you spend hours searching for items. The game its self is okay but this series really should have been shorter, the story could have easily been fitted into two games without the feeling of this dragging out.
The games do not change; there are no new game modes or upgrades from one to the next. An okay game lessened by the dragging on of the series but be warned there are better RPGs out there and unless you're prepared to buy game one and follow it all the way to this game or have been following the story and want to know how its ends, try one of them.
Overall a good game with a few bad points, over shadowed by the dragged on feeling of the series.
I feel this game's a RIP OFF!
After playing all the others hacks and finding them to be hardly any different from 2 onwards, I couldn't believe Hack 4 would be in the very same vein, from colours, to most characters, to the set up and monsters in the dungeons alas it was.
I gave up playing it as to be honest if you have played 1&2 you may as well have played 3&4, i was so unbelievably bored by the same thing yet again I really couldn't be bothered to go through even more hours/days of the same same old thing - A RIP OFF!
What! No follow up! :(
I was one of those sad people who got every weapon and did every side quest (and clocked up a good few hours to boot) but guess what, the follow up .Hack:GU never came to the U.K.
I waited and waited and yes, the American version came out (three years ago) but it never surfaced here. I can't afford to get my ps2 chipped or buy imports so I was so annoyed when I found out. I even kept the save data on my memory card for years even though I was constantly running out of space and the data of the four games took up its fair share.
I would recommend you play this game if you're into online games and such. The plot is good too BUT and it's a big BUT I would recommend you either brought the import from the states OR resign yourself to the fact that the final extra goodies your supposed to get for doing the extras in this game for the next game will never come to pass >:(
