Customer Reviews

Summerslam 200044
Match 1
The Dudleys vs. Billy Kidman,Paul London and Rey Mysterio
A good opener, ends when Bubba and D-Von hit Billy Kidman with a 3-D and then Spike pins BK. rating:7 out of 10

Match 2
Till Death Do Us Part Match (Lita marries the winner)
Matt Hardy vs. Kane
a Good match, Matt starts well and hits Kane with a twist of fate on the outside but Kane gets Back in the ring at 9.Lita then gives Matt the ring bell but Kane gets his foot on the rope. Matt then tries to superplex kane but then the Big Red Monster counters and hits a chokeslam from the top rope for the three count. rating: 9 out of 10

Match 3
Match 1 of the best of 5 series for the U.S championship
Booker T vs. John Cena
God, I hate Booker as the champ.Cena wins when Booker pulls him from the mat only to be lifted up and FU`d into oblivion. Cena pins Booker to go a Match up. rating: 6 out of 10

Match 4
Triple threat match for the Intercontinental championship
Edge vs. Batista vs. Chris Jericho
Ends when Jericho knocks Batista out of the ring with a spring board dropkick only to be speared by Edge.Edge pins Jericho to retain the gold.
rating: 8 out of 10

Match 5
Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle
match ends when Eddie Taps out to the ankle lock. rating: 3 out of 10

Match 6
HHH vs. Eugene
A great match. Eugene hits a rock bottom, a stunner, a legdrop and if not for the interference of Naitch, would have won after he hit the Game with a pedigree. the ref ejects Naitch, sparking the appearance of William Regal and some brass knuckles. Eugene waves at Regal and walks into a pedigree and a three count. rating: 10 out of 10

Match 7
WWE Championship match
JBL vs. Undertaker
TAKER, TAKER, TAKER, TAKER.What a match. JBL knocks the ref out. there are 3 clotheslines from hell delivered, count `em 3 clothelines from hell. Undertaker hits a last ride but gets DQ`d after he hits JBL with the title belt. The Deadman then throws Bradshaw onto the front his own limo. then the Deadman makes to leave, but he turns back and Chokeslams JBL through the moon roof of his own limo. Rating: 10 out of 10

Match 8
World Heavyweight Championship match
Chris Benoit R.I.P vs. Randy Orton
What a boring Match, Benoit rules but this match sucks. Orton wins after he hits an RKO. rating: 5 out of 10

what were they thinking?2
I can't believe how much people like this ppv as it's pure crap. Two laclustre matches and I very good match is not enough to justify a 3 or 4 star rating. All throughout the night the crowd are so bored with the event that they start booing every face wrestler (including their hometown hero edge)which I think promted his change from face to heel.

There are absolutely NO hardcore or anything goes matches which you need at least one to make a great event, especially these days. The ending with Undertaker vs JBL was quite good as were the eddie guerrero vs kurt angle and chris benoit vs randy orton matches. This, however could not and didn't deserve to save the event from disaster.

I'm not just following other peoples review's and going against them as I stayed up 'till 4:00am to watch it and as the wwe logo came up at the end I couldn't help thinking that's three hours of my life I'll never get back.

So to sum it all up the wwe had six golden years from 1997-2003 when the storylines kept you gripped to the sofa. There was no such offering here as the fans clearly couldn't give a damn who won any match.Avoid like the plague and bring back 2000.

Summerslam 2004- Let The Games Begin4
Summerslam is usually one of the most solid PPVs of the year, due to the fact that its an interpromotional event, and this year was no dissapointment.

Six man tag match- Mysterio, Kidman, London vs The Dudley Boys w/Spike
A decent match but seems stupid if you look at where Mysterio is now and where he was then. 6/10

Triple Threat for Intercontinental Title-
Edge vs Batista vs Jericho
A solid match even though its a bit short. Made good by the fact that Edge is booed by his hometown!7/10

Best-of-Five for the US Title- Match 1-
John Cena vs Booker T
Again too short, with matches like these its easy to see why people think that Cena should still only be playing mid-card matches.6/10

Till Death Do Us Part Match-
Matt Hardy vs Kane
The climax to the stupidest storyline ever. Basically a normal match except, wait for it, Lita marries the winner! Terrible, they could've at least put it in a cage.4/10

HHH vs Eugene-
A good match even though the crowd boo Eugene whose meant to be the face. The ending was a bit predictable but otherwise it was a good showcase for HHH to show he had no conscience and a nice break from him relentlessly chasing the title.7.5/10

Guerrero vs Angle-
Second best match of the night. Its always nice to see some good chain-wrestling. Guerrero shows that he can be just as technical in the ring as Angle.9/10

WWE Title Singles Match-
A highly average bout for the WWE title. Taker was always just going to be a time waster for JBL until Mania. The ending is not as good as everybody says it is as I can't see why being put through the PAPER roof of a lomousine would hurt so much.7/10

World Heavyweight Title Singles Match-
Orton vs Benoit
After being in an absolutely brutal match with Mick Foley earlier in the year Orton deserved this shot at the title. I have a great deal of respect for both athletes and they put on a technical masterpiece. I love how Orton was never portrayed as the villain of the piece despite being a member of HHH's Evolution at the time. Both guys put on a clinic and the surprise ending is great. Orton was the first "new generation" wrestler to hold the title and is a damn site better than Cena.9/10

Only two good matches but those two were well worth buying the entire DVD for. Only really good for the Angle-Guerrero rematch that everyone wanted and to promote Orton as a feasable Heavyweight champion.
