As the H300 supports the USB host function, data from other UMS devices can be directly transferred to the player through a single cable without having to use a desktop computer. All of you digital camera users who have been waiting for this function will be pleased to know that files can be transferred directly from portable USB devices such as the digital camera. With the addition of a browser function, this function has become even easier to use.

This easy-to-use external disk reduces waiting time with a faster transfer rate. By supporting the USB 2.0 interface, the player can transfer data at a maximum speed of 480Mbps. Since interfacing does not require a separate manager program as the player is recognized as a portable data storage, its use as an external hard disk is made even easier.

Considering the many attractive functions of the player, resisting the urge to own one will be difficult.

The colour screen can display 26 letters (13 Korean letters) horizontal and 10 rows vertical. The player provides a Text Viewer for displaying lyrics or e-books, an Image Viewer for viewing stored JPEG or BMP files, or for photos downloaded from a digital camera. SRS WOW introduces an excellence in bass and three-dimensional sound. You can create your favourite settings using the 5 preset EQ and user control EQ. H300 Series uses lithium polymer batteries that can produce 16-hours of continuous play from 3-hour charges. There is no need for an adapter any more. Instead, with the USB cable connection, the player is charged automatically when connected to the PC.

The H300 Series features a radio function for listening and recording. Now you can record radio shows with the H300 model as requested from many H100 customers. Settings are saved for easy FM broadcast listening. Even on the move, you can enjoy crisp reception wherever you are. Now you can enjoy FM radio broadcasting anywhere in the world. Songs may be searched and played according to the artist, album, genre, and filename through the DB function. The player also supports the Winamp playlist enabling the user to create personalized albums.

The H300 makes it easy and simple to record voice with an internal and an optional external microphone, and other audio sound (such as CD, cassette tape or radio) with the analogue cable.

The Direct Encoding function directly connects to a CD player or other audio tools and converts the music into the MP3 format. AutoSync automatically categorizes and stores music into the MP3 format. Voice Detect supports voice recording, and enables the system to be turned on only when voice is detected, saving storage space and power consumption.

Compatibility with AGC(Auto Gain Control) makes recording capabilities comparable to a professional recorder; it captures sound from even at a distance and controls recording quality.

H300 is compatible with Lineout, which produces dynamic sound with its analogue cable connection to the speaker.

Superb Quality Gadget
I received this iRiver mp3 player last week and I am overwhelmed at the quality and capabilities of this device. The sound quality is superb, but if you want this unit to reach its full potential I would recommend upgrading to better quality headphones which can make a huge difference (my Shure E2C's really do it justice). The colour LCD screen is bright, clear and very high resolution. The folder system makes managing your music a doddle. It connects to your PC via USB2 and is seen as another hard drive by Windows so you can just drag and drop files onto the player in explorer which is very convenient. It also displays jpeg photos and text files. The firmware upgrade available from iRiver adds video playback functionality! Videos are just 10 fps and the lip sync is not perfect but for a device at this price I am blown away with this feature. The player is fussy about types of avi files (only certain Xvid encoded avi's at 220 x 176 resolution) but it is easy to convert to this format - see http://medulla.co.uk/images/H340/H300-video/H300video_manual_easy.txt

If you are buying mainly for the video capabilities then this is not for you. But if you're looking for an excellent mp3/fm radio player which is also capable of photo and video display then I have no hesitation in recommending the H320.

A little gem!
The IRIVER H320 really is superb. It does just about everything you'd want it to , and more importantly it does it well.
Where to start? Well, the sound quality is absolutely superb and there's a function that lets you control treble etc.
The onboard mic is crystal clear and the supplied digital mic makes it sound even better. The recording time is virtually limitless.
The ability to important music from cassettes etc via the line in is a godsend. I've some precious home recordings that have now been MP3 encoded for prosperity.
The menu system is very easy to use, and is simple and unfussy.
Transferring files from your PC is child's play (I'm confused about why the other reviewers found this so difficult; perhaps it's because I have a USB 2.0 input?) and the download speeds are amazing.
Rest assured there's nothing 'complicated' about this machine, despite what the other reviewers might say. Sure, it's a little more expensive than the ipod, but it's a far, far, superior machine. Buy it: you'll have no regrets!

Best thing since sliced bread
After looking around 100's of sites of reviews I found this quality peice of kit. Not knowing that much about Mp3 players and Jukebox's I was cautious of some peoples claims about this product. I did some more research and found that this mp3 player not only had a superb colour screen but with some filmware upgrades it can also play video!!!! So I decided to take the plunge and buy it.
It came just yesterday, but I am already impressed at what I have seen so far. MY first impressions were how stylish it is then as I rummaged through the box I found the free extras which came with it. (i.e microphone). Already being amazed with this product I stuck it straight on the charger and waited the 3 hours initial charge time. Afterwards I uploaded my whole music collection onto the device and found it hardly even scratched the surface on the memory of this amazing product. Upon listening to it I was amazed at the astonishing sound quality. I may sound like I work for iriver , but i don't it is just that good.

In conclusion I would urge any of you people who are considering buying an ipod or any other rival mp3 player to buy this one instead. My reasons are:
-Great colour screen
-It can play video
-looks amazing
-after getting to grips with it really easy to use. This is coming from someone who knows little about computers.
-No software installation needed for windows xp
-plays many different types of media thus maximising the amount of song u can get on it

Quite simply better than all it's compitition!!
