LINDSAY LOHAN ROCKS!!!!
As this album is yet to be released in the UK, i firstly must say not all of my friends have ever heard of her music career. Well, ive always been a big fan, ever since " The Parent Trap" in 1998 and this album suprised me beyond all expectation. And to think, she recorded most of it in her trailer for one of her movies. It is probably the best album i have in my collection! In connection to other people view that she is very like ashlee simpson, they are completely wrong. Lindsay Lohan has created her own unique style. There are so many good songs, all with different meanings and styles. From the Rockin " First " to the Hip Hop Deluxe Record " Rumours ", this album which she has simply intitled " Speak!" is completely advisable for anyone. The songs are as follows.
1. First - This song gives the album its magnificent start and shows a more rock side to Lindsay 4/5
2. Nobody Til U - This song is fantastic and is totally bare, good vocal from Lindsay 5/5
3. Symptoms Of You - This slow rock song is excellent, its shows not only lindsay's singing talent but her pure essence on the song is incredible. 5/5
4. Speak - The albums title and possibly one of the most catchy songs. 5/5
5. Over - The Second single to be taken from speak and is definetly alot more of a rock girl type. Video is gr8! 5/5
6. Something I Never Had - Again another slow rock song, which is excellent and really meaningful. 5/5
7. Anything But Me - This really a great song with loads of mixture 5/5
8. Disconnected - This song is really in a category of its own. With techno feels and rock throughout the chrous 5/5
9. To Know Your Name - Good Steady Song, which is really catchy. 5/5
10. Very Last Moment In Time - Perhaps the most special song for me, it introduces a softer side to Lindsay while maintaining her image which is rock chick!. 5/5
11. Magnet - This really futuristic song is excellent, Lindsay really vocalises on this song. 5/5
12. Rumours - The first single to ever have been released by Lindsay in the charts, It represents her feelings towards the tabloids while keeping it like it relates to alot of people. Excellent video. 5/5
Overall, you can see that i LUV Lindsay Lohans Work, this album is really great, so go out and buy it now, Bring on the second album!
Lindsay Lohan - Watch This Space UK
This Album Rocks! Lindsay Lohan is Beautiful, Stylish, Talented at both singing and acting too! You Will Like This Album If You Like the general Soft, Preppy Rock! like Lillix, Ashlee Simpson, Hilary Duff, Simple Plan and Girls Aloud. Its not Hardcore Rock. I think this album creates a new genre of Pop and Rock. The Best Tracks are THE ADDICTIVE:- Speak, Over, Nobody Till You, First and Rumors. I love them all but they are my faves. I came across this album when she was in Freaky Friday. I Brought the fantastic film and the even more fantasic soundtrack. She was on it and the songs she sung were great, then came Teenage Drama Queen, another great soundtrack, and then Mean Girls, the movie of the year. She Rocks, and this album is gr8! xXxXxLindsay LoverxXxXx
Gets better with a few listens
On first impressions, i thought this album was merely good. Despite a handful of good tracks, i found the R&B additions tedious and a couple of the rock-orientated tracks plain average. But after many listens, I've totally changed my mind about this album. Not only are the R&B additions are ok (but nothing special), the 'misfires' are now more fun. Over remains my fave track and pretty much my out of 5 account of each track is the same except:
Speak 5/5 love this song now!
Disconnected 4/5 its a grower!
To Know Your Name 3/5 a catchy tune even if it sounds like a Britney clone
Magnet 3/5 Silly fun
Rumors 3/5 Catchy. nothing more, nothing less
