Such a good buy!
I'd heard mixed reviews on this workout, so was sceptical when I purchased the dvd. Firstly the menu is excellent, you can play all of the routines after another, or you can choose between them. The warm up is brilliant, you certainly feel the benefits of a good stretch.
She not only goes through the warm up slowly, step by step, but when you've got used to the moves you can skip to a faster paced warm up.
From there on it's just great fun.
If you were never born with co-ordination like me, haha, you'll still find this fun. She goes through every move slowly with plenty of description. So by the time she's moved onto the next move you've got the hang of the first.
Great sexy moves that can easily be mixed up with others. Doesn't leave you out of breathe but you certainly warm up and maybe even break a little sweat.
If you think that it sounds a little too easy, be warned, you CERTAINLY feel it in the days to follow, especially the hips.
Love it!
I saw this DVD as a fluke on amazon and was intrigued, I love carmen electra and went straight to the shops to get a copy. This is an excellant fitness dvd unfortunately I cant report on results as I have eaten my way out of house and home this christmas so fingers crossed. I was glad to discover that there was a collection of 5 dvds and loved it so much I just cant wait for the UK to catch up so Ive ordered them from the US. This is a fun, bubbly and suprisingly un-strenuous way of getting fit. A fantastic fitness DVD and brilliantly made. Now planning that dirty weekend so I can show off all my moves to my partner = )
Aerobic? Hmm. Striptease? Hmm.
Now lads, don't get excited, Carmen Electra won't be getting her kit off, it's more about the basic 'stripping moves' than the actual removing of clothes. The DVD seems pretty varied when you first insert it. There's a main menu with various options and if you access the routines you see you have a choice of NINE. Wow, nine routines?! That is until you realise that there are three routines which are split into clips with instruction then without instruction, making 6 clips. And even though they're cheeky enough to split these things into sections, 7, 8, and 9 are actually the other routines pasted together. So there's THREE routines in total. Not so good...but if they're great routines then that'll be cool, right?
However, it will soon become apparent that when you've mastered the instruction (which took me one viewing) there is actually only 13 minutes' worth of routines on the whole DVD. This is even more shocking considering routine 3 involves Carmen doing a 90 second routine then shouting "let's do it again" to take it up to a whopping 3 minutes. They then stretch out this 13 minutes into what they call 'programmable workouts' whereby you repeat the routines either once, twice or three times. The three times one *actually* suggests that you do routine 1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2 then 3 AGAIN.
The extras are not even worth mentioning, but the varied audio setup has promise as it offers a choice of 'Techno' 'Hip Hop' or 'Rock'. I use the inverted commas because none of them sound at all like their namesake, all being equally mundane bland repetitive loops which someone has made for the DVD. The default is Hip Hop and I would suggest keeping it on that because the other two sometimes go out of sync because they were clearly never danced to, just laid over the original routine.
I've owned it a couple of days, done it once, and I'm totally bored with it. The routines are not hard to learn with the broken down instruction. Ok, so the instruction is quite good in some parts if perhaps you couldn't grasp the moves quickly. However, I found it repetitive and pointless after the first time because I knew the routines and was bored of the rubbish music. And once you've learnt the routines what is there left to do? The repetitive 'programmable workout'? I think not.
To me this is a pointless little rip off. It might be worthwhile if they'd included 2 DVD's worth of stuff but it's obviously been created as a whole then split into 5 DVDs in order to earn the maximum money.
It would only be aerobic if you decided to go with the 3x routine, and who wants to do that? I guess it is a bit of a striptease as you could incorporate removing your clothes into some of the moves but I think if I gave enough thought to it I could choreograph a decent enough striptease for my partner.
This might be useful to someone who's desperate to be able to strip and doesn't have the first idea - but don't be fooled, it won't get you fit unless you stick with the mundane repetition.
