Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Two giants of contemporary music team up for the first in MTV's "Ultimate Mash-Ups" series, inspired by the bootleg trend of mixing different songs together. After performing a concert in which they blended together each other's songs, Jayand the Park went into the studio and recorded polished versions of the resulting mash-ups. With a looser, more hip-hopfeel than most rap-metal, it includes the single 'Numb/Encore'. The DVD features the original concert and in-the-studiofootage.

The Collision is spectacular, but brief3
The songs that are there are really awesome, i was a real fan of Linkin Park, and its surprising how well Jay Z's music gels with theres. The problem is the album is so short - its only six songs. I know its quality not quantity that counts but while enjoying the songs that are there i couldnt help but feel a little cheated when after 21 minutes 18 seconds the album was finished. In summary, a really good although far too brief album.

Perfect - please do some more5
It surprises me somewhat to read that a few people hate Hip Hop but love 'Nu Metal' as I think the two are quite closely linked - especially in the case of Crazy Town and Limp Bizkitt.

That aside, it amazes me that I hadn't picked up this album before. As a long-time fan of Hip Hop (20 + years) I rarely listened to anything else, but when I discovered Nu Metal I was hooked on that too. So for me, this album has been too long in the making. And too short now that it's been done.

The stand out tracks (and there are only six) are the first four and Big Pimpin/Papercut in particular. It takes what are, for me, the best songs from Jay Z and Linkin Park and puts them together in such a way that you'd believe they'd always been like that.

Love it. So much so, that I wasn't happy with the MP3 version I 'found' and went out and bought the genuine article so that I could listen to it at a decent sound quality.

Amazing5
When I first heard Numb/Encore I thought wow, I want more. I heard about the album and heard some more of the tracks. Then I bought the album and loved. It is a bit short, but the DVD makes up for it I suppose. I like both Linkin Park and Jay-Z when I wasn't too keen on LP before, but now I have more of their songs and love them. Points of Authority/99 Problems/ One Step Closer and Numb/Encore are my favourites. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/ Lying from You is very good and the rest are OK. I was disappointed by Izzo/ In The End because In The End is a great song and this version dosen't even have the chorus and dosen't mix with the Izzo instrumental. Other than that BUY IT!!
