Manufacturer's Description

Farbe: schwarz

Customer Reviews

Smooth, fast, professional.5
I initially bought this on a whim. I read a review and decided, why not? My mouse is only on the desk right now and surely that can't be very good for it. The decision was torn between Steelpad and Icemat (razor lost early due to cheap green graphics), mainly over which was more useful.

After reading reviews praising Icemat and a lot less praising Steelpad I decided it was the way to go, and a lot more stylish with it. *wow* am I amazed by this mat! Made from solid frosted glass with a black undercoating it certainly looks the part and is quite big with it. Long gone are the days where I would have to pick up the mouse and drag it back over because I ran out of mousemat. The speed is phenomenal and so utterly smooth with the addition of the glide pads packaged with the item. My Logitech G5 Laser comes with a form of Teflon pad on the bottom but after so much use the pads have become dirty (not visible but microscopic) and produced a grating sound on the new mat. I was not happy and immediately cleaned the pads and applied the new glide pads, which solved it perfectly.

This mat is quite cool to the touch but after long use it will warm up. The problem is that as it's not made of cloth if you tend to sweat during a heavy gaming session it will not absorb it and it will leave a trace on the pad. If you notice this I would advise you buy a gaming glove or a wrist rest as it is not good for the pads on the mouse.

This is definitely a pad you should keep clean, but it could never be easier; a wipe with a soft damp cloth after every use will keep it clean and pristine. If like me you don't have time for that then give it a rinse every week or so, but be careful not to take off the black undercoating!

I've only had the mat a couple of days but so far I have seen no problems with laser mice, as has been noticed with other gaming pads. It has been tested at 400, 800 and 2000 DPI and seems perfectly fine with both slow and quick motions. I've heard that steelpad is not compatible with Logitech Optical and Laser mice but the Icemat seems perfectly fine.

Never seen a better mat, Five stars!

not great with laser mice2
Own this mat (well sent it back today) and have found it completely pants with both my Logitech MX Rev and Microsoft Laser 6000 mice.

Kept coming across "lose spots" where the laser seems to fail to track movement and the mouse icon just sits there on the screen. frustrating when it happens on desktop, suicidal during gaming!

Professional? Hardly3
The Icemat 2nd Edition is essentially a coloured piece of paper held within a thin, easily breakable sheet of glass. It also comes with things to stick to the corners of your mouse so it doesn't clumsily scratch along the glass. But even with them, the middle of your mouse will still get some scratches, which is not what you'll want if you have purchased a high-end mouse.

That said, if you can get your head around the fact you've spent £30 or more on a bit of glass and some paper, then it can work fairly well, is quite large which gives space to move your mouse around instead of constantly dragging it back, and can still look nice.
