Customer Reviews

Hooray For Hollywood!5
This acclaimed film uses original recordings as background music, interspersed with live performances by Vince Giordano and his Nighthawks that are as authentic a recreation as you're likely to hear. You'll not pick that up from the track listings, though, which fail to credit Vince with his full complement of recordings, showing instead the names of the vocalists in most cases. If you love the music of the Roaring Twenties you will not be disappointed.

Good selection of tunes of the era4
A good production and selection of tunes for the movie. Not always easy to find songs that everyone likes and this CD is no exception. I find Martha Wainwright's rendition of the old standard 'I'll be seeing you' exceptionally bad. Her voice is not suited to great standards such as this and I feel sure a much more suitable singer could have been found.
The rest are a mix of new interpretations and originals, which blend well.

A family affair?4
Top spots on this soundtrack have got to be the three members of the Wainwright family - the amazingly versatile Rufus, his extraordinarily talented sister Martha & their gifted father Louden. Outstanding & beautifully in keeping with the era of this film.
