THE ESSENTIAL Megadrive game
This is probably the one game that everybody who ever owned a Megadrive, would have owned throughout the udrtaion they owned it. A game that everybody loved to play, with its simple fast paced scrolling platform mayhem. If you not heard or played a SONIC game then where have you been, and YOU MUST TRY THIS before any others, as the original is probably the best !!

where it all began.
This game was released for the mega drive in 1991 following the popular tv show.it is the first game i ever played and now it is still the best.A lot may have changed since its release in terms of visual graphics but this game has soul.I still own my old mega drive and all my games including sonic,all boxed as new and will never part with them.Following this i purchased a game boy, a color game boy, a playstation,a computer, a n64, a ps2 and a psp and plan on getting a ps3 at the end of this year and sonic is a launch title. hes here to stay.

June 24th 1991
At first you would think that on June 24th, it was just a normal day of your life and there is nothing much happening. That was true, but on this special day in 1991 a new Video-Game hero was born, named Sonic The Hedgehog.
Sonic, is known in reality as "The World's Fastest Hedgehog", enabling himself to travel at the speed of sound that the naked eye cannot even trace. Sonic was created by Sega and was used as a Mascot against Nintendo's character Mario. On June 24th 1991, Sonic made his debut on the Sega Mega Drive Console with his own named game "Sonic The Hedgehog"!

Your main goal in Sonic The Hedgehog is to travel through all the worlds and defeat your villain Dr. Robotnik (AKA Dr. Eggman) at the Final Zone area.
Sonic must use his speed and skill to avoid deadly trap and defeat enemies that Dr. Robotnik has sent to defeat you along your quest. Coloured rings are scattered all over the levels, which are used for your protection.
But if you really want to know what happens, then you should attempt to retrieve all 6 Chaos Emeralds from the Secret Worlds.
There's a lot of adventure that lies in Sonic The Hedgehog!

The original Sonic The Hedgehog game has been around for over 15 years, and the game is still going strong as if it was just released yesterday. It is also one of the most successful selling games of all time!

My Personal Game Score: 9.9/10: Too Good, Too Brilliant, Too Close For A Fantastic 10/10 Score

My Wish: Rather than relying on hills or running at top speed to perform a Spin Dash. I wish you did the Spin Dash like you do on Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (Press Down and the A or X button etc)!

Final Comments: If you haven't seen Sonic's first days in gaming, or your not sure what he's about then find a console with a classic Sonic The Hedgehog game featured and give it a bash! Believe me, it won't be long before you talk about it!
