ropey enough !3
the idea behind the first taboo tuesday was certainly good,an interactive event with internet users deciding on match types and oppenent, the internet user was of course given three options or in the case of the intercontiental championship 15 options as a rival for chris jerichos championship.
This was a RAW only event and being the better brand i expected much more than i got to be honest,i felt that in some ways it was too predictable in what people would go for and my mind wondered if asking the in house crowd what they wanted shifted the results online, yes thats being cynical but it did cross my mind,i may as well mention that.
I felt that there should have been more options, more brutal options such as inferno matches, last man standing, stretcher matches, you get the idea, well i hear you ask,how did the matches that featured go then, well mixed, very mixed.
The opening match featured jericho vs shelton benjamin and was a good opener, filled with ability and skill and class, this was just what the night ordered as a starter.
The battle royal featuring seven of the brands top women in a schoolgirl match may sound good in paper, jerry the kings commentary is certainly seedy here but the match wasnt the worst i have ever seen, good enough.
Next up was a weapons of choice match,i didnt think the choice was that evil and sinister,i didnt expect a chainsaw but i did want something more, anyway it featured a revenge match between snitsky and kane, this storyline was very much like a soap leading up to the match and the match was ok in parts and weak in other,a very bloody finale made up for it though, but this was a 15 minute match that was neither here nor there really.
Next up was a choose the losers fate match between uncle and nephew eric bischoff and eugene, the match was over before it began and then the after events seemed to last an age, time wasting i felt but it was pleasing to see eric get humilated.
Next up was a tag team title match, the champs la resistence versus a tag team that didnt want to work together in truth, edge and chris benoit, this was a solid enough match, with a shock in store, wasnt the cats meow but it was fine.
Next up was a match that had build up longer than the match itself,it seemed to last an eternity and another womans match to boot, christy hemme against carmella in lingerie pillow fight, this was rubbish if im honest,a complete no brainer that had nothing going for it but good looking women.
Next up was the world title match, triple h against shawn michaels, now we all love shawn michaels dont we,i know i do,and i want to see him wrestle with all he has, this match wasnt gonna be one of those nights,he was injured going into this so the match was a bit lacklustre in long drawn out submission moves, cant blame tripel h for that though, some outside interference helped sharpen things up but this was far from the best match these two would have, very far.
And so onto the main event of the night,a match between legend and legend killer, randy orton vs ric flair in steel cage match, mind you there wasnt a camera in the ring which was odd enough, blood spilled with gusto and this was a good match,it couldnt fail to be in truth and vince mcmahon had said this event would change RAW,it didnt, cyber sunday is a better event anyway, here it was the first night of its kind so it wouldnt be perfect and it isnt,3 stars out of 5 and now a star more.

Not a bad concept really3
The concept for this show wasnt bad, Giving the fans to chance to vote for what they wanted to see, Of course some of the options were so silly that it was obviously wanting to lean toward a certain option (normal wrestling match vs a cage match)?

Nonetheless Many havnt been that kind to this show but Its a largely inoffensive show, Eugene V Bischoff goes on for far too long, mainly the shenenagins afterwards. And the Womens Matches where both wastes of time. But Theres also a good opener with Shelton Benjamin getting the biggest win of his career to date over Chris Jericho for the IC title, Triple H V Shawn Michaels is also a good match considering Michaels real injury he suffered the night before, also notable for Edges Heel turn which would spur him into greatness and future WWE title wins.

The Highlight for me is the Main event Cage match between Randy Orton and Ric Flair, anyone who appreciates old school NWA style action will love this match which is a throwback to the old Luger-Flair matches you used to see. Lots of blood and intensity in this match and one worth seeing to see Flair can still bring the goods in a big match. Overall one worth seeing at least once to see the concept before the now Cyber Sunday which will be in October this year.
