Editorial Reviews

Manufacturer's Description
Two 250ml cream ceramic coffee cups with elliptical shaped saucers.

"I'm perfectly happy using my quarter cup-measure for an espresso or cup-measure for a cappuccino when I'm drinking alone, but I wanted to be able to offer friends a cup of coffee too! The bulging, spacious saucers not only echo that beautiful fluid shape of the range but, importantly, offers a resting point, between bites, for an after dinner mint or cookie." --Nigella Lawson

NIGELLA LAWSON'S LIVING KITCHEN

Nigella Lawson is one of the UK's most popular food writers and broadcasters. Her range of kitchenware items, designed in collaboration with Sebastian Conran of Conran & Partners, was launched in 2002. Her day to day experience in the kitchen led to her desire to improve the tools of her trade; the result is an original, practical and stylish range of kitchen items ideal for today's home cook. Paying close attention to form, materials and colour, the Living Kitchen collection is of a high production and design standard. Traditional materials such as ceramic and wood are used in a contemporary and imaginative way, improving the function of the products. Delightful to use and a pleasure to display in the kitchen; as Nigella herself writes:- "Everything has to be utterly reliable, but there needs to be a pleasure beyond the functional. For me, pieces of kitchen equipment are like toys for grown ups: getting them has to feel like a treat." From household favourites such as mixing bowls in Nigella's signature colours of "white with soul" cream or duck egg "good mood" blue, to elegantly curved cooking tongs, each item brings something new and useful to the kitchen. Sophisticated packaging makes Living Kitchen products ideal to give as gifts, or as a personal treat.

Nice stylish cup set - great for nibbles ! 4
I bought this set quite a while back after being served the same style of set at Costa coffee. The thing that really attracted me to them was their design and the elogated way the saucer is designed. This means it looks very stylish for serving guests biscuits with their drink. No more trying to balance a seperate plate. With this you can nibble a biscuit and sip you drink without a juggling act.
Personally I really like them and bought two more although I do think they are a bit expensive I like the design so much ! I dont use them for everyday use but so far I have had them for a year and a half scratch and chip free. They have a matt affect with no glaze so there is the potental of them being scratched.
Overall a lovely stlish set that everyone comments on and for me ideal for occassional use.

Only buy if you like serious burns1
These cups are certainly not worth the money.

I bought them for my mother as a housewarming gift, and we tried them out soon after she opened them. Unfortunately, due to the poor quality of the saucers, the cup was unstable, and burned her hands rather seriously.

Not only this the ceramic was rather poor quality and began to chip after some use.

Don't buy these if you like having unburned hands. Very disappoined in Nigella. Enjoyed her series, but feel she is now out to make a fast buck. Obviously doesn't value her customers.

I plan to buy the rest of her range of kitchenware, as they are quite fashionable, but I am not feeling hopeful.
