Under the hood: The PlayStation 3 system’s Cell Broadband Engine is the very thing that game developers have always dreamt about. Its unique multi-processing unit design represents a tour de force in parallel processing. The ability to do more of everything at the same time means more enemies, more AI, more explosions, and more realistic gameplay. Amazing gameplay elements such as ragdoll physics and keyframe animation, enemy AI behaving unpredictably, glass cracking based on the size of the object that impacted it, and individual flecks of dust in a beam of sunlight are all possible with the PlayStation 3. ps3's rule!!!!!!!!
This machine has become part of my life! There is so much I could say about it but i'm not going to, the list is endless!
Yes, the xbox 360 is good but this just totally kills it!
It is so much better looking and the games are brilliant!
playstation network is awesome and downloads keep appearing and appearing! get this machine for gods sake!
After 11 months
I have had my PS3 60gb for nearly a year, but two weeks ago it froze on me me whilst playing COD4 online, i left it for a couple of weeks to sort it self out/i was busy only to find the problem was worse.
i could not play blu-rays and GRAW 2 did not load GRAW 2.
I contacted Sony, they asked me to reformat the drive and if that did not work contact them after.
So 3hrs 20 mins of waiting for the drive to format i tried to play a game it was still freezing.
Sony sent out a refurbished 60gb console to myself and this works fine.
i decided to buy a couple of extra's in the mean time these include play tv, and a 320gb hard drive. (which was shrunk down to 265gb after format)
initially when i bought my PS3 there was not that many games to choose from but now there are loads of great games with line up for 4th quater looking even better i would recormend a PS3 to anyone but after my experience of mine breaking down i am not to sure if i would recormend a used one, as if this breaks down out of warranty i dont know how much cost would be incurred.
in HD the games look great, blu-ray dvds are fantastic but you do have to play around with your TV setting to get the most out of it, i also have a Wii but i have not played it since i bought the ps3, so if you are thinking of buying a PS3 go for it you will not regret it.
ps3 review
I have spent many hours on both the xbox 360 and the ps3 and while the ps3 is much more expensive than the xbox the ps3 also has the least games and in my opinion the games that it has are of a lower quality than the xbox. i have compared many games, call of duty 3 / 4. fifa, tiger woods and many more. the ps3 seems to have a lot of missing items from these games that the xbox includes for some reason. While the comment that the xbox only uses a 8 gig dual layer dvd and isnt as good for games as blu ray is complete rubbish as the xbox uses advanced compression for the data in a similar way to the pc. The controller on the ps3 does not include dual shock and feels very light weight compared to the xbox and ps2. The overall good point od the ps3 is wireless network included and good build quality but the i have seen a lot dvd read errors on the ps3 of late. so my opinion is that they both have strong points and weaknesses.
