Amazon.co.uk Review
The long-defunct, Southern Californian band regrouped for an album, an expensive tour (expensive for ticket buyers, that is) and this televised special, which features the Eagles in performance. Laid-back but sharp and even stirring during a longish acoustic set, the guys quickly get past the nostalgia element and sound truly viable. They even make it look easy: the sight of Joe Walsh wearing glasses and sitting in almost perfect repose as he effortlessly colours old hits "Tequila Sunrise" and new material such as "Learn to Be Still" may make you wonder why you ever stashed that guitar in the attic. The band eventually gets off their stools and rocks out on "Hotel California" and other Eagles standards. All in all, it's an enjoyable and mellowing show. --Tom Keogh, Amazon.com

Brilliant5
A must own for any true Eagles fan.As said before the best ever version of Hotel California I have heard. And one of my favourites New York Minute

Hell freezes over - versus - Farewell 13
Was given "Farewell 1" for my birthday. Came on here to find a couple of reviewers who said they prefer HFO. So I couldn't wait to hear this DVD, as F1 was simply superb. Jeez! what a disappointment.
Yes it is ten years older than F1, but doesn't it show it. Being their first reunion concert, they are not at ease, and it comes thro' in the music.
Compared to F1 - the harmonies are sometimes a bit slack, and often the backing lacks bite (especially the orchestra). Yes I know there were far more session musicians on F1, but weren't they put to excellent use.
In saying all this, I still give it 3 stars. It is THE EAGLES after all!

Comotose Performance2
This is more like a geriatrics reunion than one of Rock performers. If they were any more laid back they would be unconscious. There is great harmony and the sound is great but this is really a text book going through the motions "performance".
Other reviewers have commented on the great sound quality, whats the point in a super DTS 5.1 soundtrack when the actual music is rubbish. Admittedly the last DVD I watched was Bruce Springsteen, and most concert performances will come off badly against that.
If you like slow, gentle rock that doesn actually rock you may love this, but if you like your rock to have at least some balls, I'd give this a miss. Definitely not recommended.
