The Very Best of Gene Vincent.5
Of course I had heard of Gene Vincent, but at 54 I'm just a little too young to have become hooked up with him in his hey-day. I'd heard Be-Bop-A-Lula much like most of the world has by now, but then I read Mick Farren's book about Gene and wanted an album to listen to.
And this double CD has just about everything you'd want and need, though there are probably a lot more tracks on other albums if you become caught up with his rock 'n' roll. The recordings are obviously old, but have been preserved well and the quality is excellent. If you're into 50's rock 'n' roll and go out watching or jiving to 50's bands, then this is just the album to get you in the mood before you set off from home.

Good for rock n' roll fans3
Having numerous albums by the more famous rockers, I decided to try this one. I was surprised to find how many of his well known hits were on this album. And most of the other tracks are very good (some grow on you after a few listens).

Be-Bop Gene5
