Evaluation on Draper Paper & CD Shredder
I thought this would be a good piece of equipment based on its brand name Draper. I bought one othese shredders in March 2007, and it developed a fault. It would not shred, and makes a loud grinding noise. It was replaced three months later. Two months later, the repalcement model developed the same fault. It shreds erratically and makes and grinding noise again
Smokey and the Bandit
This shredder has worked reliably for about 1 year. I think it was a little optimistic on the paper handling and it often struggled with a few sheets of junk mail. The CD shredder is OK, but you need to put the disk through a few times to be sure. It doesn't shred the disk, rather scratches the surface. This morning I was doing some shredding and smoke started coming out of the paper slot. This was accompanied by an electrical burning smell. Needless to say I am in the market for another shredder (but not another of these)
