Customer Reviews
Bought as a gift ended up Playing it myself
I originally bought this game as a gift for my sister. When i opened it just to test the components, I ended up playing it for hours.
Its a really fun game with alot of current pop songs (I didn't know at the time that the Popworld name refers to the Channel 4 programme "Popworld" - even has an intro with the presenters at the start).
The game is quite challenging in that you need to sing the sondg at the precise timing (indicated by time-bars) and pitch (indicated by the levels the bars are placed at on a "music-sheet" type lines).
Anyways, have a go at it its a whole lot of fun and even more so if you have friends over.
I do think that after the initial 10 hours or so playing all the songs and the features it probably would get somewhat boring but then thats not really the aim of this game: its more about the having a laugh with your friends and getting totally embarassed!
I'd recommend it for those young at heart and those that want to play something light-hearted and quick.
great multiplayer fun
this is a superb buy, but only if you have friends! i have singstar party and it is a great game ...... however it can get slightly repetative and although there is a one player option, its not the best of things to do because you get bored on your own.
Anyone who has a dnacemat will know what i mean, they are the best things to play with friends, like singstar, but if you play on your own you just get plain bored.
For multiplayer gaming i would definitely give it five stars but because of the single player mode, it drops one stra to 4. But is still definitely worth getting
A Good Laugh!
Played this over the weekend with 6 other people. I have now ordered the game today as it was such a good laugh. I am one of them people who has never done Karaoke before, and have never been tempted, until playing this game!
This game was fantastic, and such a laugh. As you sing along to the song, you are given points and comments are made about how accurate to the real song you are, with comments such as "cool" "great" "awful" "bad" If you are a bad singer then it makes the game even funnier, so don't be afraid to give it a go. I sang a Rick Astley classic and sounded like a strangled cat. You can then listen back to the song and hear how good or awful you sounded.
Brilliant to do with the family or your friends. I think you do better if you have had a few drinks before hand, as builds your confidence!
