"Get You Right", a smooth throwback ballad from Miami outfit Pretty Ricky's debut, BLUESTARS, features a hardcore rap that name-checks 1990s groups H-Town and Jodeci. While the four youthful brothers of Pretty Ricky were likely in grade school when these artists had their hits, it's a fitting reference; the quartet's sound reveals an innate feel for the NewJack Swing sound of that time. This approach is evident in both the record's production and its raw sensuality, and theoverall vibe is updated with a Dirty South sensibility.
Pretty Ricky features three rappers--Slick, Spectacular, andDiamond--augmented by the resonant voice of Pleasure, whosealluring style falls somewhere between Stevie Wonder and R.Kelly. The subject matter of BLUESTARS tends toward that ofthe latter (but often hints at the depth of the former), moving from seductions sweet and innocent ("I Want You [Girlfriend]") to raw and lascivious ("Grind with Me") to a combination of the two ("Playhouse", "Can't Live Without You"). Pretty Ricky effortlessly creates soulful music that defies anyone time or genre on this impressive debut.

ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF 2005 SO FAR!!!
The reason I like Pretty Ricky so much is cos they are different than anything else at the moment, they mix 3 dirty south rappers with 1 RnB singer and it works brilliantly! I bought this CD after just hearing the smash hit "Grind With Me" and I didn't regret it, I was listenin to this album on holiday and im still listenin to it now! One of the best albums of 2005.
I love all the tracks apart from "Chevy" and "Nothing But A Number"...these are the weaker tracks. I definatly recommend this CD to all RnB fans, there is nothing else like it!

Grind with them!
Well if all their following albums are of this quality these boys will make it far. I heard them on MTV about 3months ago and no one had eva heard of them. Grind with me has got me hooked. I downloaded the album the same day - they're that good. Sexy with sounds that just make you want to hug up your partner. Trust me people it's worth every penny. This is definately a must buy! Favourates include number 8 - age aint nothing but a number, #7 - call me and of course # 3 - grind with me.

What can i say??? This album is HOT!! i dont usually like this style of music, but on the 1st listen of this album i am hooked. EVERY song is catchy, but not in a mediocre way. The singers' voice(s) kind of remind me of Ginuwine, but sexier!!
If your die hard Rap/HipHop fan then you might find this kind of commercial, but if you like catchy beats, soulful banging chrouses and mad rhymes then id say what are you waiting for.... BUY IT!!
