Brilliant sophomore EP5
Often mistaken or characterized as a great 'punk/emo/rock/pop' band, it seems like people tend to forget that if you're described in so many genres, it might be because you've managed to create a sound distinctly your own. Motion City Soundtrack has succeeded in this brilliantly, through their first release (2003's I am the Movie) and this, which I've had a pre-release copy of for nearly two months.
'Commit this to memory' is a much more crisp, clean, well-produced album than 'Movie', probably thanks to the help of Blink 182 producer Mark Hoppus; but also due to the firmly developed talent within the band, notably by front man Justin Pierre, but certainly also by the rest of the guys.

If you're interested in catchy, not-quite-pop, unique, 'different' music - which a lot of people seem to be - this is an excellent title to pick up. Bands you might compare the MCS sound to include Matchbook Romance, Fallout Boy, and possibly the Killes. Enjoy.

Another great album from MCS!4
Having first heard of MCS due to them supporting Blink 182 on tour, I bought I Am The Movie and is a firm favourite with my CD player. Going on what I knew from 'I am the movie', I bought Commit this to Memory and it is just as good. The bands originality and potential is really demonstrated on this release, however I am not sure it achieves the same catchiness as I am the Movie, but it is still fantastic. Really, do not even think twice about buying this album, you will not be disappointed.
Ps. Also check out Rufio's new album and listen to Fatal Flaw (they haven't made it big yet, but they are a great punk band on the up!)

Quality5
A very professional album, it has all the addictiveness of "I am the movie", if not more. I strongly recommend this album. This paragraph says it all.
