"Pretty much everything here could be a single - and there aren't many albums you can say that about".
Reveal magazine, July 02, 2005

Customer Reviews
Why wasn't this a hit?
Quite simply, I bought this album after reading a very positive review in the Sunday Times and thought I would take a chance. It is an absolutely superb album - not a weak track on it. Everyone and I mean everyone I have played it to has been immediately impressed. I am really looking forward to her next offering. As I said at the beginning, I just can't underatand why it wasn't a hit.
Just buy it
I'm not going to wax on, much as I could and there is LOADS to say.
I saw Tara in "War of the Worlds" at the NEC, stunning!!! So, I bought the album, and... STUNNING!!
You will be delighted with this one.
An Amazon recommendation that got it right
Gambles sometimes pay off, and sometimes they don't. In the latter case, I took a chance on buying an album by the band Abraham on Amazon's recommendation. Not bad, but it didn't do a great deal for my musical tastebuds.
This one did pay off. Tara Blaise has a lovely, mellifluous voice that you can't help but like. Admittedly, on the first listen, only a couple of tracks stood out - the single Paperback Cliche and the opener, Three Degrees. But I've had this CD on in the car and after a few listens, I'm a fan. It's definitely a grower.
About half of the songs are very good. Most of the others I'd call 'good', though I feel the album runs slightly out of steam with the average last two songs. However, this is a very decent effort from Tara Blaise, and should appeal to fans of Donna Lewis and similar female singer-songwriters. If you've been recommended this one by Amazon, or by anyone else, you probably won't be disappointed.
