Customer Reviews

great game5
If you like the C&C series and also like First Person shooters, you'll love this game. Admittedly, in 2006 the graphics seem dated, but they are decent, and the game is a lot fun. Definately a bargain .

Best online multi-player ever!!!5
For the New Command & Conquer fans out there, who only just getting into the C&C world, you must read on.

Gameplay:
Renegade is NOT an RTS type game.
This addition is a first/third person shooter, where in the story mode you play as a commando on the Gdi side, and go through various maps destroying everything RED that you encounter.

I must admit that the story mode does not have a lot to it.
It's clear that the game was rushed.
There is no strategy involved, you just need to find better weapons and blow the hell out of everything.
So if you are a Conflict: Vietnam fan, or a Socom fan.
FORGET IT!
This game isn't for you.

However, the best part comes when you play online multi-player.
It does not come any better than this, especially for the C&C fans.

you enter the lobby, where you see the servers list, and when you enter one of the games, you can go to either NOD or GDI sides, and you have to work as a team to destroy the enemy's base, while keeping yours intact.

You can get credits either from kills, repairs, or the harvester.
Then you can purchase better units, vehicles, etc...

This mode requires all your skills, and yes... a lot of strategy involved.

Graphycs:
Ok, so the graphycs aren't brilliant.
They could have been much better, but everything is defineable.
There are a couple of glitches and bugs, such as getting stuck in corners of walls, your vehicles blowing up for no apparent reason, bullets ricochet into you, you can jump through certain walls that you're not suppose to, the base defences only fire at you if you are looking straight at them...
But they are all little things that you overcome, and just forget about, once the adrenaline of playing online reaches your blood streams.

Controls:
You have to use keyboard and mouse for this one, which for me personally just doesn't do.
I'm used to play with a controller too much.
However there are third party applications that you can download, that converts the keyboard keys to a joypad... if you know what I mean.

The controls are quick responsive, it's easy to aim with the mouse, not so easy with an analogue stick, but I still prefer the joypad anyway.

Overall:
I really like this game, it's fun and addictive, especially to play online.

So, you should buy it now.

In the C&C universe...4
You can feel yourself in a fast, action-rich C&C environment. Bullets, helicopters fluttering above your head and never get bored. Very good game! I like it!
