Poor battery life
This is quite a nice looking unit, though a little on the heavy side. I suppose this is to be expected for a 10.2" unit.

OK, the good parts.

The picture quality is nice and bright. No problem playing recorded DVDs or re-writable DVDs.

The DIVX support is good, though a little slow in starting up when watching an AVI movie. No problems in playing a DIVX movie with AC3 sound. I copied a movie with 5.1 AC3 sourround sound, and it played it OK. Though I did not test the digital output.

OK, the sound is not the best through the internal speakers, but they way I intend to listen to it is via headphones, which sound great. Just remember to get a decent pair.

It does have a nice selection of outputs, and can be used and a video display from a composite input.

So how come it gets 1 star?

The battery life is a claimed 3.5 hours. Mine lasts around 1 hour.

Now as I intend to use the player while travelling, the battery life is *very* important to me. How many movies do you know that lasts just one hour!!!

The thing is next to useless for me.

There is a cigarette adapter included, so the battery life would not be a problem when travelling in a car.

Overall, a very nice unit with a nice large screen, which is let down by a very poor battery life.

If you intend to run the unit via the supplied AC or car adapter, then this would not present a problem.

Not a great little player
I have purchased the H&B player after much research via the web (having never heard of H&B) I have to say that the product is very smartly packaged but the concerns I have is that the DVD player works fine when sitting still with the earphones plugged in. However the moment you move then the unit can be prone to skip the DVD it is playing. This is not much use if you are expecting children to sit still in a car and watch DVDs. I have tried this with several DVDs to check and had the same problem with them all. Also the sound quality via the in built speakers is very poor and not something you would use. On the flip side the earphones sound quality is excellent. The built in speakers quality appears to be a problem with most portable DVD payers but the H&B ones are very tinny.

My player
I received the H&B player today. I am delighted with it.. it has such a lot of features and is very easy to use. The picture quality is very good as is the sound. It packs easily in its case which was provided and is watchable in the car should you need this facility. We are taking away with us this week and with a few DVDs it will make our spare time complete.

I must add some words about Amazon,first class for ordering and delivery deserves five stars.
