Does what it says on the tin
I used to have a Canon Ixus and was forever forgetting how to use the different functions or to put the battery on charge. If this sounds like you, get the Kodak C310 and bundle it with a printer/dock. Fantastic - it's all in one place, charged up ready to go. Pictures are fast, superb quality cost about 29p each. Camera is a bit naff looking but really easy to use and the screen tells you in simple language what the different modes do. If you like cool, trick techy stuff forget it. If you like inexpensive functional stuff - get one.
A Cheap One
I admit I bought this because it was cheap. I wanted a camera that takes pictures. Good points are that as it's a cheap one I can take it out with me without having to worry someone stealing it or me losing/breaking it, it is very easy to use as it does not have many set up/picture taking options, and also as it was so cheap I could invest some extra money in a large memory card.
In my opinion no one but professional photographers need more than 3-5 megapixels, because most people won't order bigger prints than A4. But I am a little disappointed with the camera because pictures are often very grainy and not sharp (even those taken outside cloudy midday). A digital zoom is OK if you want to zoom in and are not planning to do that later when editing your pictures. Bare in mind that a digital zoom works completely different way to an optical zoom reducing the picture quality. Your pictures may look like they have been taken using 1mp camera instead of a 5mp one.
Also, when transferring pictures to my computer using the cable I need to start the software first and use it to transfer the pictures - unlike with other cameras where you can see an USB drive (the camera) appearing on your computer when you plug the camera in. I would prefer the latter option which would save me starting the software everytime I want to transfers pictures. The software and share buttons etc. are useless to me as I want to edit my pictures with a different program, display them on a different website and use a different company to make the prints... If I did all with Kodak and their partners, I guess the sofware and share button would be useful.
Perfect for a 9-year-old or a teenager going to a rock festival. I would like better quality pictures and an optical zoom, but of course, that would be more expensive.
Good Camera
Good quality pictures easy to use, ideal first camera. My son thinks its great had it for his nineth birthday.
