About the Artists
Kubb, the band that is to all intents and purposes a vehicle for UK singer-songwriter Harry Collier, have already built up quite a history: born in Liverpool, but raised in Tobago in the Caribbean, Collier got his break while waiting tables at London café, when by chance, Rollo from Faithless caught him deliver a rousing version of "Happy Birthday".

CD Description
Debut album from London-based dance-rock indie band originally mentored by Faithless's Rollo Armstrong. Drawing on unusual life experiences and utilising a range of exotic instrumentation, their epic sound has been compared to Jeff Buckley, Muse and Radiohead. Produced by the legendary Youth (Crowded House, James, Beth Orton), the album includes the singles'Remain', 'Somebody Else' and 'Wicked Soul'.

wow....4
Wow, after hearing 'If I Can't Have You' and 'Alcatraz' I must say these tracks are excellent.
'Alcatraz' is a slow melody, relaxing, reminds me of Madonna's 'Paradise (Not For Me)', Michael Jackson's 'Stranger In Moscow' and 'Twisted Logic' by Coldplay. Its the kind of song that you could fall asleep to.
'If I Can't Have You' is another stand-out track, its mid-tempo beat is catchy, a good choice for a single. The rest of the tracks are good, 'Grow' is my least favourite. 4/5.

Move over James Blunt5
Just listened to this for the first time in one sitting, loved it in it's entirity.
Several outstanding tracks, in fact I did not hit the forward button once.
Grow will surely be a No 1 upon it's release. Put your feet up with a glass of wine and listen, you will not be disappointed.

moments of excellence4
I heard this album while in a music store, and just had to buy it. I had not heard Kubb before, but was looking for something new.
Well, what I got was a very polished album with some standout tracks - glad I got it.
The singles have a great sound - something like Savage Garden meets Coldplay, slowed down to true mellow. In fact, the album has a lot more slower mellow tracks than I expected, after hearing 'Wicked Soul' which is one of the most addictive songs in a while.
This was a bit disappointing at first, but on further listenings I am finding I am enjoying the slow mellow tracks more and more.
One more point - I found this under 'Alternative Rock' in the store.. I would describe it as neither of those! It is mellow pop... take it as that, and you wont be disappointed - expect something with a little more edge, and you wont find it here.
