Editorial Reviews

Album Description
Keyshia Cole is the real deal. Like many young people raised in tough neighbourhoods, the 21-year-old songstress endured a tumultuous childhood in Oakland, California, and has fought all her life to keep her dream of a music career alive. Now she’s realizing that dream on her own terms with her first album for the A&M label, The Way It Is. It’s been a long road for Keyshia, but it’s her powerful voice – a bell-like instrument whose soaring clarity is topped off with a tantalizing touch of soulful grit – that’s carried her through, not to mention the diminutive singer’s personal combination of sugar, spice, sass and sex appeal, along with a solid-steel spine. With production by Kanye West, Krucial Keys, Ron Fair and Chink Santana, Keyshia’s dreams have been realized.

The New Mary J Blige Has Come!5
This album has been the best albums I've heard this YEAR! It is a hot album. The vocals smack most rnb singers out there and her lyrics have depth and meaning and are sung with RAW material.
Listen to LOVE and you'll understand what I mean.
The few RnB chicks that dont rely on image and production to sell, just TALENT.

New star of 20055
What can I say, an amazing album. Not one bad song, although only 12 tracks Keyshia's voice is very versitile and no songs sound alike. However this album is not for commerical r+b fans. I would liken her to Mary J Blige on Whats the 411. Raw emotion and REAL lyrics. This is no Beyonce or Ashanti lover album, only for the TRUE r+b heads. Hopefully she will get the recognition she deserves, my best track # 2, produced by Kanye West.

Awesome!!!5
One of the best R&B albums to date...timeless...

I salute you KC...no.1 fan
