Customer Reviews
Savour it; British comedy has never looked better.
Little bloody Britain, Catherine bloody Tate and bloody Green Wing. If you watched most of the comedy on British TV right now a person with an average intelligence level wound put a gun to their heads and reminisce, when comedy was great, Father Ted, Brass eye, Spaced, The League of Gentlemen and the other great names and faces of comedy.
There are now new names to be added to the perfection list. Yes, that is correct, perfection. I have been watching Peep Show since the first glorious Friday it was aired on Channel 4. The show has a great deal of originality in that all the camera shots are done in a pov style. The viewer can hear the hilarious and often dark thoughts of Mark and Jeremy as you follow them through their various situation that arise from two social rejects making their way through life. I sound like I am saying rejects like it is a bad thing but this is what lets the viewer, dare I say it, relate to the protagonists; this allows for there to be a large amount of cringe worthy moments.
It is only now that Peep Show has been getting the attention in the media that is deserved.
You must buy this, buy series two and when series three is out buy that. Don't lend it to friends, make them by a copy.
Things are looking good, Little Britain axed, The Office, Extras, Nathan Barley and Jam (Chris Morris being the greatest comedian ever) the IT crowd and so on. These are good times, so do the world a favour and make Peep Show as big as bloody only Fools and Horses.
Worth every penny
Finally a witty, rude sitcom that dares to be different. Don't worry about the first person perspective, it's a gimmick that doesn't get in the way at all and by the end of the first episode you don't even notice it. I can't recommend this highly enough. Start here with series one, and buy them in sequence up to series four, you can't lose!
