Play the game before you review it
The 'gamer' below obviously hasn't played the game at all, and is just having a Daily Mail style, knee-jerk reaction to the game's premise. Actually, this is a pretty original title, with elements of platforming, fighting and puzzle-solving. It makes a pleasant change from the ranks of 'urban' GTA rip-offs we've seen lately. It even has a decent story to keep you interested. An all-round good effort.
Fun and original
This is a great title which was well worth the full RRP, and at a discounted price in most stores now it should be seriously considered as your next gaming purchase.
The gameplay style is very original, with your aim in each level being to get your "tag" up over the city, with various bonus tags, and a main tag on a major landmark in the city of new radius.
The game starts in the protaginists home neighbourhood and it does admitedly start out with some quite tame locations, and this can feel quite repetitive putting up the same tag in the same location. However stick with it past the first few levels and the level set pieces become really impressive. A highlight being painting a tag down the side of a suspension bridge whilst avoiding the spotlight of a heli-copter gunship.
The gameplay is excellent, the graphics great and basically just a damn lot of fun. My only critism being that sometimes the police can be so hard to evade that it just becomes frustrating, and there's no real reward for stealthily moving by them. However the main attraction comes from the new gameplay style and the outrageous set-pieces. Well worth a purchase.
Getting Up..
'Getting Up' to no good with a can of spray paint; brilliant..
I had a lot of fun playing this game. It takes a while to get used
to spraying the larger pieces but despite that its brilliant..
Its about time there were different genres of games to choose
from, after a while some get repetitive and are similar to others.
I learned soooooooo much about graffiti whilst playing, its really
inspiring stuff..
The story line is quite moving in parts, the ending is perfect.
Some challenges are quite difficult, (spraying the trains), dont
give up.. I Sometimes found it hard to control Trane; i was all
over the place..!
This game is amazing from start to end, i recommend it to anyone..
