Album Description
Norman Jay is the Notting Hill Carnival's official, un-official ambassador. Together with brother Joey, they have created the carnival's legendary soundsystem and party "Good Times". Good Times 5 distils his signature party sound into 2 CDs of rarities, soul classics, house, disco, reggae and hip hop only a DJ of Norman's calibre could dig up. This year's offering brings together a heady mix that rubs Ashford & Simpson up against Goldie, and lets Otis Redding nuzzle up against Roisin Murphy.
Never too strenuous, never too chilled out, the mix on Good Times 5 shows exactly what a successful sound system needs--plenty of massive tunes and chilled-out beats to keep the party/carnival going through the afternoon and the evening and into early hours. All you need to do now is find somewhere to plug in those massive bins.

GOOD TIMES VOL5
The name says it all....Norman Jay MBE is a living legend and this compilation with his brother is just rocking...you will have GOOD TIMES all the time listening to this sublimely and supremely cool mix of music..buy it!
the good times are here...
Norman and Joey have spliced together perfectly here with their different influences of funk, soul, dance mixes, reggae and other black music classics. A great addition to the ever-growing reputation of the Good Times system!
But all is in vain if you don't turn up to Notting Hill Carnival this year! You've gotta taste it (28&29 Aug).
From the beginning of each Cd (1&2) the funk and soul classics ease you into Norman's collection of the past year's memorable dance tracks that he's unleashed on his followers over the past year at the Medicine Bar sets, LOVEBOX Weekender (those who were lucky enough to get tickets!) and of course the listeners to his regular sunday night slot on 94.9FM - 'Giant 45'. That's a must for all funk and soul virgins.
'If you like this...', then check out NJ's other compliations - Good Times 1,2,3&4, Philly Soul and Giant 45. All are sold by the good people at Amazon...enjoy.
