Classic Rock History5
Rick's tour of Cuba was regrettably a controversial one. Though it didn't need to be. This DVD explains for anyone and everyone's satisfaction that the tour was about music, and more importantly sick children, - not politics.
Rick's performances with his band of hand picked highly talented musicians are now legendary. DVD's like 'Live in Buenos Aires' give us a good look at this talent.
But 'Made in Cuba' takes the energy level to another plane. Quite a number of Rick's classics appear on the playlist, but it is the energy level which hits the viewer early on the opening sections of 'Journey,' and continue their way through to a stunning high impact conclusion with Yes's 'Starship Trooper.'
Sure, Ashley Holt's vocals don't compare with Jon Anderson's but this is a comparison which need not be applied here. Rick's effort on this song alone, should be worth the price of the DVD.
Glimpses of a very appreciative crowd inhance the perception of a powerful concert as well.
As for the venue, the Karl Marx Centre, Rick explains during about 27 minutes of bonus interview material that Mr. Castro was intending to perform a speech at that venue on the same night as Rick's show, but when Mr. Castro found out, he moved himself to another hall so as not to confict with the show. As Rick says in amazement, "I can't imagine Tony Blair changing venue's for me!"

This show has been brilliantly filmed. The cameras, angles and sound reproduction should leave no-one with any complaints.
I consider this to be the best Rick Wakeman live DVD. All credit to 'Classic Pictures' for getting this one into my collection.
This is a valuable piece of Rock History!

Excellent5
A simply fantastic DVD, great value for money; superb track listing with Great Video and Audio Quality. The extras are cool and interesting, and Mr. Wakeman himself is wonderful.
The band are ace, and rip through Rick's classics with style. I came to this DVD as a curious Yes fan and am now a Rick Wakeman fan thanks to this.
My personal favourite songs here are 'Arthur,' and 'Return of the Phantom,' however every song is a cracker.
The first song takes a while to get going and the singer takes a bit of getting used to, but by the second song, you'll be captivated.
If like me you're a curious Yes fan, give this a shot, you'll love it!

Superb concert5
Absolutely excellent musicianship in evidence from Rick and a new lineup of the English Rock Ensemble. All the usual favourites are there, with some new twists coming from the new players in the band.
