GLITTER BALL DAYS
A great compilation of ORIGINAL hits from Chic and Sister Sledge.
Good value for 2 CDs (the second one being alternative versions of several of the tracks on CD1).
Very good production and well recommended for those retro disco fans (like me!).
Two of the best on one disc.
In the 80's dance music scene, two names stand out, Chic and Sister Sledge, both having massive popularity on the dance floor. This CD set contains most of their best tracks, Frankie, for me being one they should have left off, but I'm sure some like that particular track. I feel they should have binned the remix CD (Disc 2) and given us all the 12inch versions of these tracks instead, which would easily fill two CDs.
This set is good value for money all things considered, well worth it to hear Good quality, well Mastered versions of Both Sister Sledge and Chic's journey through time and the dance floor. GOOD TIMES indeed.
What about a 'Best Of the Chic Organisation'?
Yet another Chic/Sister Slaedge compilation. But hey!! Who cares when the music is as good as this. A couple of points though:
1) Why 'Dancing On The Jagged Edge'? A completely crap song.
2) On the remix disc, Track 1 'We Are Family' is not a remix, and just the full 8.08 version.
I just wish that we could have a Chic Organisation greatest hits with Diana Ross/Sheila B Devotion. Is it just me or is Spacer one of the best songs that Bernard and Nile wrote (apart from the singing)and maybe some of the unreleased Jonny Mathis album.
