Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell:
Making a game based on Jaws seems impossible until you realise you don’t play Chief Brody or any of the humans in this game – you play the shark as you chomp your way through the Amity Island tourist population!
The lowdown:
As unlikely as it may sound at first this game takes considerable influence from the Grand Theft Auto series as you tour the ocean depths and seaside beaches, ensuring your place at the top of the food chain. Set thirty years after the original film, despite the fact that you spend the entire game snacking on swimmers and smaller denizens of the deep you’re essentially a sort of fishy anti-hero as you set out to destroy the evil Environplus refinery on the island. As fun as this all sounds, and it is fun for the first few hours, the game is handicapped by some very clumsy controls and a perversely unhelpful camera. The idea that Jaws has the wherewithal to be using diver’s passcards to open underwater doors also seems to stretch credibility rather too far.
Most exciting moment:
As well as following the storyline there’s also a free roam mode where you can explore the ocean world and eat its contents. Apart from battling with giant squid and killer whales there’s also a number of scenes from the movie to recreate, including the famous opening sequence with the buoy and the girl.
Since you ask:
Developers Appaloosa Interactive are the same team behind Ecco the Dolphin for the Dreamcast and PS2. The non-violent game worked in a similar manner and featured several great whites as enemies to be avoided.
The bottom line:
It’s no classic but this isn’t quite as bad as Jaws 4: The Revenge.

It's all biting and crashing into things!
I waited it would seem almost forever for this game, they kept putting it back and back. Now I have it and I am a little disappointed.
I've tried to like it, I've played around six hours worth and now I'm fed up with it.
It starts with a tutorial which teaches you how to bite, attack, head butt boats, smash things with you head etc etc, and then all you seen to do through out the whole game is crash into things and bite things and believe me that gets boring after one hour.
You can free roam and take on missions, the missions involve biting things and yes you guessed it, smashing things! There isn't that much to see when you free roam really, the beaches are mostly empty and plus you get bored of eating people after a while.
The most frustrating thing without doubt is being attacked by little sharks, and being constantly harpooned by boatmen, all these will kill you fairly quickly unless you restore your energy by biting something again!
People scream when they see you and will try and swim away which is great at first but again boring after an hour of play.
Sometimes you will see large whales and whale's sharks etc but if you try and go near them the current suddenly stop you from doing so adding further boredom to the game.
The graphics are good and the sound is annoying as it was a cheap jaws music sound almost like they couldn't afford the original theme. The sound also has allot of screaming in it (even when your not near anyone!) which is annoying after a while.
Sorry to sound like a spoilt brat but I would have preferred it if you could go out in a boat and hunt the shark, this would give the player the chance to feel the fear of great white attack, or perhaps both.
Worth a try when it's in the bargain bin or if you're a jaws fan. Or possibly it might be right up your street.
Best game the X BOX!!!!

This is the best game i have ever played on x box, it has all they right deaths and levels, TRULY FANTASTIC!
Best game the X BOX!!!!
A MUST HAVE!!!
more a lemon shark than great white
i have mixed feelings about this game. i do really like it and recommend if you are a big fan of the jaws film but it really could've been better. the shark is quite tricky to control and the fact that you have to keep finding food every couple of minutes or you die does get quite annoying. i did however really enjoy this game once i'd put in a cheat for it (shaaark) as it instantly unlocks everything and makes your shark really fast, powerful, agile and able to go without food for longer. as another reviewer has said it would be good if you also had the option of playing as brody to try and hunt the shark and it's a shame the game couldn't have more jaws license such as the john williams score and cut scenes from the film. if they ever redid jaws for the 360 then i reckon it could be awesome but this is still a good game and well worth getting (just remeber to put the cheat in)
