Only Footy on DS!
I couldn't find a review anywhere for this game. I decided to buy it anyway, only because it is THE football game for DS! (It's the only sports game apart from Tiger Woods!) Right down to business, first of all there are a variety of game modes. The main one being a 5 year managerial career mode, you choose your team and go! You basically build up points by winning matches, if you don't win enough, you get sacked! There is also a good challenge mode where you either try to come back from a losing position, or just score as many goals as possible. There is multi-card multiplay for upto 4 people(i think!) but also a single-card 2 player mode. The graphics are good, probably on a par with the FIFA games for PS1. The gameplay is great. It feels like the original FIFAs and has an arcade feel to it. The only bad point is the difficulty. Anyone who has ever played on a FIFA game before should go straight to world class mode. That is the only mode where you will get a good game! The DS stylus is utilised during matchs for selecting players to either kick to(from a corner) or throw to(throw in). A nice feature is that you can design your own club badge by drawing with the stylus!
To sum up, if you want a football game this is your only option. It is a good solid game with plenty to do, the gameplay is better than i was expecting!
Very Good
This game graphically will never be as good as the PS2 or PC version’s so there is little point in trying to make these comparisons. However, I think the graphics are good enough to enjoy this handheld version of Fifa06. Everything is there that you might expect from a Fifa game, there is a good career mode in which you can take a lowly placed league team into Europe over a consecutive 5 season spell. Scoring goals is as exciting as playing on the PS2 or PC.
Overall, an excellent attempt at Fifa on the DS, very playable and one I will be reaching for again and again.
Decent but not perfect
When i got this i wasn't really expecting much but was pleasently surprised even though the graphics are pretty much appauling it is still an exciting and entertaining football game. I found that career and creating your own team were fun features plus playing multiplayer on ds dowbload play is always cool aswell. In conclusion i would recommend this game to anyone in need of a decent footy game on the ds
