Customer Reviews

Multi-Region Portable DVD Player - now I believe it !!!!!4
I totally relied on the customer reviews for this product before buying -I was looking for an inexpensive portable DVD player which could actually play ANY region DVD. Found this model (never heard of Shinco before!) but I must say I agree with all the other reviews !! So pleased I decided to purchase as I can now play all American and Australian DVDs with no problem at all!! All the other features are an added bonus. Paid for the Express delivery and it arrived by quoted deadline too. Thanks Amazon and thanks Shinco too....I would certainly recommend!

SHINCO - Worth Every Penny5
I ordered this Shinco DVD Player & it arrived the very next morning. Amazon's service is excellent.
Now for the player, what a gleaming little gem! The "wow" factor kicked in when I unwrapped it, cased in aluminium, it is well finished & expensive looking. I lifted out of the box. It has a nice, solid feel, not at all what you would expect at this price. It comes complete with a good quality carry case, incorporating a car head rest holder for the DVD player. You will need the case as in the box is every accessory that you could need. It has a mains adapter, car adapter and lithium battery pack - take your pick plus cables & leads for tv connection & so on.......
I plugged the player in & was instantly rewarded with a sharp clear picture. Excellent colour, finger tip controls that are well thought out. I really didn't need the instruction book, it is very easy to use, the controls are self explanatory, a child would have no problem using it. Great for the car on long journey's (passenger's of course!)
The sound quality is good, although the back seat passenger would possibly need the earphones if the car engine was running. I think this DVD player is well worth the money. I have nothing but positive comments & praise for the service & the player. I own a couple of more expensive players than this one that haven't half the quality or features of this Shinco. I especially like the lift up / top loading disc compartment, it's much easier to use & stronger than the sliding drawer type which are so easy to snap off. The size of a book, it played everything I threw at it which is more than I can say for my large, pricey home unit! :-(
You would have to go a long way to improve on this DVD player or beat it. I can't wait for the TV tuner to arrive tomorrow - if the TV is as good as the DVD player I will really be over the moon! Highly Recommended.
Enjoy,
Sue

A brand you've never heard of - don't worry!5
I was looking for a cheap, portable DVD player I could use in the car to keep the children entertained on long journeys. Having spent a long time searching the web - the Shinco 1720C looked comparatively expensive. I mean - the big brands I'd normally go for were up to £60 less! However the reviews on Amazon seemed so favourable; I took the plunge. This is an excellent piece of kit. Small, solid and very well built. Yes - it is extensively made from Aluminium alloy. It's ridiculously easy to set-up, pretty quiet in operation - and plays every disc I've thrown at it. The screen is bright and clear - and the viewing angles are excellent. This means that I can get awaty with just one in the car - so that's a real money saver. It comes with loads of connectors and a handy bag and straps. For those of you who are interested - I've mounted mine in the car by simply placing in on the transmission tunnel and the gap in the front seats. It sits low down - but is secure and perfectly watchable. It also means that it's a cinch to pack away and put back. It has two headphone sockets and all the necessary outputs to hook up to a TV if you want.

I'm really struggling to find anything negative to say about it. Don't be a brand snob - if you're looking for a top class product - then this is just the job.
