Xbox Live is an online multiplayer gaming and content delivery system that allows registered users to create their own friends list of other users, and communicate with them via a mail-like system of either text or voice messages which can even be used to send a message to an offline user. With the new Xbox Live Vision camera, users can also send snapshot images to offline friends or video conference with them when they?re online. With the launch of the Xbox 360, Xbox Live went through a major change. The most notable change is the establishment of two subscription types, called Silver and Gold. Xbox Live Silver is free to all Xbox 360 owners. While it does not allow access to online play, it still has access to other Xbox Live features such as the friends list, messages, and the Xbox Live Marketplace. Xbox Live Gold, which requires a monthly or yearly subscription fee, allows users to access all available features on Xbox Live. Although there are no parental controls available in Xbox Live, any reports of misuse of the service for criminal or sexual purposes results in a permanent ban of the account. The best service out there
Definitely worth the £35

Its the best online service of any of the current consoles by a country mile. If you have an xbox 360, this is a must buy.

Xbox Live- Essential
Personally i always thought why buy an expensive Xbox 360 console if you're not going to purchase Xbox Live. I have a PS3 and can tell you that this is the best online service, you can message, private chat, video chat, recommend online content to friend and much much more. When playing a game on live its like unlocking the other half of that game and you really get you're £40 worth then. I would also recommend a microphone if you plan to game with friends.

Worth every penny
Gives you so much more than just the single player games. Lets you keep in contact with mates and great to communicate whilst playing a game. Worth the money, especially now with the extra chapters on GTA IV available only to Xbox live subscribers!
